That last line about staff is quite telling, I think. In this country those workers weren't given much help, Glastonbury did try to do its bit to raise them a few quid. It's entirely possible that the backstage guys are now driving delivery vans or whatever.

If they’re cancelling due to uncertainty of travel rules, I’d suggest there’s not a whole of uncertainty for the UK. I think acts who are doing quite a lot of shows in this country may keep those dates, which is why I think Billie may well be safe. Curious to know what Macca’s tour is gonna look like. If he had shows all over Europe in mind then it might be time to get concerned. A few warmup nights in the UK before the festival and then a US run and maybe we’re ok. Hugh Jass
Might be time to start making lists of acts who are touring, free that weekend and big enough to step into the big slots if needed... You suspect there could be a few "how 'exclusive' is your agreement?" conversations too... Harry Styles (Friday and Saturday) Coldplay Liam Gallagher (Saturday only) Foo Fighters (Sunday only) Adele Elton John (Saturday only) Florence and the Machine Foals

It that truly was the reason they would not be touring at all... anywhere. Wish they would be just be honest and say, we are cancelling because we have shit the bed and cant be arsed with the various differing rules for various different countries. I think Billie is less likely to pull her tour as it’s usually just her and her brother up on stage. Acts with a full band and a huge tour crew are the issue. She had a band when she played the other in 2019. I’m pretty sure there was at least 4 people on stage. I don’t think she’ll cancel her tour. jparx
I strongly think Billie goes ahead with it either way. It's a huge deal for her career, I'm sure she'll pull out all the stops to make it happen. She's doing enough shows in the UK where if the Europe ones need to get canned, there's still a huge tour left. Since Macca and Kencrick haven't actually announced anything yet, I imagine it's easier for them to quietly push it back a year and they're the ones I'm most concerned about. If they are out, my money would shift to Florence and Coldplay.

Matt42
Perhaps this explains why Macca is in the frame and nowhere else. His management may not see the benefit in a country hopping tour and would prefer doing a show here and there. Also Glastonbury would mean less staging. I’m ngl though I’m getting nervous for the acts on the lineup who are absolutely packing as many dates as they can. It’s a huge risk if one of their crew comes down with covid - that’s nearly 2 weeks of shows gone in a flash.
