Have you ever noticed that all three times Radiohead headlined, and their surprise Park set, the years were all prime numbers?

Have you also ever noticed that Muse have headlined every 6 years since 2004, noticed that last night as I was watching bits from all 3 headline sets.

I know.  But career-length aside, the criteria for a heritage headliner is a hit-filled back catalogue stuffed with classic tunes.

And on that basis, it's still Swizzle.

Indeed. AM are still easily the biggest British band going right now.

Calling them a heritage act is just stupid.

Colplday probably just edge it popularity wise but far far fewer people actively dislike AM if that makes sense.

I still really hope AM leave it over a decade before coming back, I can see lots of eye rolling around here that it's them again because they're everyone's first guess every year for a solid 6 months so feels like they always do it. I haven't seen them since the '13 tour though, kinda miss em (I'd rather go to their own show or APE though).

TBH , i would be happy with Glastonbury town brass band headline friday , saturday and sunday if it means we get through the green gates and onto the hallowed ground

I appreciate the sentiment but I'd hate to lose out on a good few months arguing about the headliners just because we're actually allowed to go.

    • 2 really good albums IMO. Fun, really good musicians, energetic, can dance to it.    I'd take that over the couple of dozen twee ernest singer songwriter 2 chord dross acts on the bill most years.
    • They will have strictly 14 days to comply, at the end of which they will strictly have another 14 days to comply.
    • Bonobo has a new album out in September.  Touring the US the end of this year, so hopefully UK dates and festivals in 2027.  Would make a superb Park headliner.
    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
