Football 2020/2021

I actually have a couple of thoughts on what could be practically done, asides from calling everyone involved a c**t...

The clubs want this place by August because they know they’re not going to be allowed into any UEFA competition for a long time now. So the clubs, football associations, UEFA, FIFA, governments, everyone should throw as many legal challenges, appeals, courts of arbitration, etc as they can to delay for as long as possible. Two or three years of no European revenue would hit these bastards hard.

Secondly the likes of Sky and BT should only fulfill their bare minimum contractual onbligations to showing these clubs on TV next season. And even then only ever show them at home to Burnley or Norwich, never against each other. No “Super Mega Sundays”. No United v Liverpool or Arsenal v Spurs. Block it all out. Reduce their revenue from televised matches as much as they can.

Being hit in the pocket is the only language these c**ts understand.

The scenes when Tottenham are the only team left in the European Super League.

The Real Madrid president is appearing on one of the big programs in Spain in a couple of hours to talk about it. Hopefully we can get a few more to quit before then.

A good PR statement from the clubs withdrawing so quickly can still turn it around IMO e.g. ‘upon reflection they realised the ESL visions were not what they were sold, and it wouldn’t be right to go ahead blah blah blah’

Too late for any of that. They knew what they were getting themselves into. They shouldn’t be forgiven or forgotten.

They’ve underestimated the strength of feeling here. They probably expected at worst a few blokes with bedsheets outside the ground. Nothing like this.

Sanctions still need to come in against the owners behind this. Just because this attempt seems to have been defeated it doesn’t mean they won’t try again in the future.

Football still has an issue with how it’s financed and something will need to be done to secure the long term future.

Spot on.

Both Chelsea and City wanted it.

Hopefully the other clubs and not just the 14 in the Premier legue, will realise the top clubs have to much power.
