Christmas jumper at the ready!!

I’m already wearing mine. Annoyingly I’ve lost the battery pack for the lights. The last time I wore this jumper was on my very drunken 40th last year in the before times when you were actually allowed to meet random strangers in bars.

You don’t know how drunk I was that night. I didn’t even make it home, ended up in some girls hotel. People were buying me tequila because it was mad Friday and my 40th birthday. Was a crazy combination.

I tried to find it but I’m not sure if I even brought it home.

Probably best not to know where the batteries went.

I did find other things that are battery powered.

Topic: The Xmas Eve Eve Evening Extravaganza
Time: Dec 23, 2020 07:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time

Join Zoom Meeting
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84947150543?pwd=WDlFRVVrdmJDTThVbXV5b09vaFUwQT09

Meeting ID: 849 4715 0543
Passcode: EFESTS2020

Twas the meet before Christmas, and the air felt cool,

Every poster was stirring, especially a certain @crazyfool1.

@Ozanne’s Keir pyjamas hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that A Labour Rule soon would be there;

Dennis was nestled all snug in his bed,

While a caged pigeon danced in @Wellyboot’s shed;

And @lucyginger doused in glitter, and @Kalopsia in his cap,

Had just settled their brains for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

They sprang up to see what was the matter.

Away to the window they flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters to see @ShakeyCrash

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,

Gave an air of mystique to Arthur the Crow,

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,

But @stuartbert two hats and many a beer;

With ales a plenty and spirits abound,

They knew in a moment this meet would be sound.

More rapid than eagles the conversation came,

And they whistled, and shouted, and called each other by username:

"Now, @squirrelarmy and his model entourage! Now @dondoand @March Hare

On, @Homer! on, @Quark! on, @Punksnotdeadand @Losing my hair!

To the top of the Tor! and in through the gate!

We will all be talking Glastonbury by the hour of eight!”

The stories and the yarns oh how they will fly,

The hours will soon start to pass by;

So up to midnight many will stay,

Although by then @Big durbs may be snoring away!

And then, in a twinkling, we will all power down;

but you’ll find that Zoom has gotten rid of your frown!

So join us on raising a glass to each other;

And be amazed at the topics we will cover!

All are welcome to the virtual meet;

Strangers became friends since the first meet and greet!

Who knows what the next year may bring;

Hopefully we will meet in a field and we can sing!
An end to social distancing and a return to meeting as a mob;

Maybe too @funkychick2007 will have a break from her job?

Until that moment we have this meet on Wednesday;

And a long drop in session all through Xmas day!

So hopefully see you there, old faces and new;

Oh and maybe Arthur’s identity - any chance of a clue?

There may even be a rare appearance by me;

but if not I wish you all a Christmas filled with glee!

A quick bump of tonights link and the amazing poem too 🙂

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
