On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing. The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on. -

They will search bags going from the campsite into the festival site. How thoroughly they do that varies greatly from one security person to the next. If they find any cans they probably won't confiscate them, but more likely they'll offer you the option of drinking them there and then or taking them back to the campsite -
