it needs tory MPs to speak out against Cummings for Spaffer to dump him.

Cummings isn't much liked by plenty of tory MPs, so fingers crossed.

Cameron called him a psychopath and Davis hates him too (apparently he openly called the latter stupid). Saw one tweet earlier saying plenty of Tory MPs are unhappy about this new Cummings scandal/development.

Laura Kuenssberg’s tweet defending Cummings is staggering. She shouldn’t be defending a government too advisor at all.

to be fair, it's a "report" of the govt version of events rather than defending the govt.

Where it fails is by simply accepting the govts version, without checking the rules to see if the govt claim matches those rules.

She's just posted this,

"Few more details this morning - -small number of people in No 10 knew that Cummings had gone to Durham, not stayed in London -seems it was his sister who had offered to help with childcare when he and his wife fell ill -family stayed in separate house + had no contact in the end"

So the story is now that he didn't put his parents at risk his sister was going to look after the kids. The BBC is the state broadcaster so when push comes to shove they will promote the government line. A month or two back Boris was threatening to take the license fee away, now every day on the briefing the BBC get the first question, and it's usually Laura.

The police report says that they were called to the parents grounds, doesn’t sound like a different house.

True, she seems to do that quite a lot then never offer a clarification.

I really hope the journalists and opposition don't let this go. It's black and white and he absolutely, without question broke the rules. There's absolutely no debate on the matter. For all the government's failings, their guidance on this was actually really clear.
