No its not. I'm not being personal at all, you just seem to get very defensive. I have nothing at all against you and value your posts for the most part. Don't mistake being pulled up on things as a personal attack.

And you are making a comment about the source of information and ignoring the actual information.. that is virtue signalling. 

I agree they are very questionable sources of information for the most part but take the info on face value and then you can have a discussion in good faith and not for some reason think you can't have a discussion with me.

Scientists don’t have to do a damn thing except provide their unbiased recommendations, based on the most accurate data and modelling they can achieve.

It’s then down to the government to decide the next steps.

I didn’t catch who it was, but somebody on the radio made an analogy for the 21st June that I thought made a lot of sense. 

He likened the decision to taking a blind corner on a country road. You don’t expect to hit anything, but you can’t be totally sure what’s around the corner. 

So, do you accelerate or do you slow down?

Makes sense for a 4 week delay maybe but if, as i suspect, that turns into "second doses for everyone" then the same analogy ahead of winter applies. Chris whitty himself said something about acceptable numbers of deaths and likened it to flu, which infers that number is in the many thousands. How do we think the country and media are  going to react when that begins this winter? They'll say the vaccine doesn't work and we need to lock down until a booster is in everyone. Then by that time there's a new variant and on we go.

Hospitality could be on the edge of becoming a seasonal industry and events on the edge of being a redundant industry. With the resultant job losses and worse. This is regardless of whether its 4 weeks or longer

The analogy really doesn't work because It's not blind though. There's not as much data as we'd like, but there's still some from Bolton and other areas which all looks positive if it does scale nationally. Call it a partially obstructed view, but nowhere near blind..

Yup and the public have been scared into going along with it. That's why the extensions shouldn't happen imo, sooner we get rid of then as a safety blanket the better.

Yeah, we’re all really just here arguing over whether it’s really a blind bend or not. Unlike a road, it’s not immediately obvious… 

Stretching the analogy a bit far now, but it’s the people arguing there really isn’t even a bend at all that I have a problem with. 😉

Haha I would say accelerating would be lifting everything right now? Maintaining would be 21st June doing what was planned? 😀 we are definitely slowing down... just best not bloody reverse.
