People’s mentality.

I never tried yesterday, we are waiting until Sunday and then it’s Sunday or bust for us. Now I’m not saying everyone with extreme determination is going to be successful, but do people give up too easily? A second group chat that I am part of had a few people in it who were trying yesterday and at 18:10 they were all speaking in the group chat saying how hard it was and that they were never going to get tickets. You’re not going to get them if you’re typing messages 10 minutes in to the sale. You need brute determination and sheer will. Positivity breeds positivity. I might not be successful on Sunday but you can bet your bottom dollar that I won’t stop trying until it says Sold Out......... and even then I’ll give it another couple of F5s.

Set strict instructions on the whatsapp groups after last night.  Only message if it's success so we can make sure we don't try and double-buy. Nightmare trying to focus when message alerts keep popping up and someone's just taken a photo of the holding screen...

We held a group phone call, works better than messaging I think

I don’t want any communication with anyone apart from Mrs Kid who’ll be sat next to me, I don’t want to hear anything from anyone else until either someone else has bagged us tickets or we’re contacting them telling them we've boxed it off.

I actually got the registration entering screen a few minutes after the sold out signs went up. By the time I had fumbled through the numbers they had gone.

I got tickets for Boss Night’s (a Liverpool FC themed live music night) screening of the Champions League final, pretty much impossible to get hold of after it showed that they were sold out, gave it a few refreshes and they became available again and then I pounced.

So do we....but there's always someone!

Just looked, 48 WhatsApp messages in our group between 18:00 and 18:24 last night....and that was us only trying for 4 friends of my son's, not trying for ourselves!!! Arrrgh!

It’s hard work isn’t it, people just don’t listen.

I reckon they should go back to box offices and waiting outside through the night, put them on sale in the middle of January as well so it’ll be a test of sheer endurance on who can handle the cold.

..or Seetickets should reduce the available sessions to just 5 at a time....by my reckoning the sale would last somewhere around 3 months....but at least the system would be less likely to crash.

That'll weed out the weak ones......

Just give them all to me to distribute. I can be trusted.

I've had a pretty good streak so my other half offered out my services for last night's sale to a couple of his mates who I knew for a fact wouldn't be trying anywhere near as hard as I would.

As it turned out, they didn't send me their reg details in time so they missed out. Now I've got to try for them on Sunday...whilst they probably laze in bed. Highly irritating.

I mean I am sure everyone has a theory about how to best conduct the ticket sales.

But I have always thought that it would be good to pre-register your group and assign a lead booker. That way only the lead booker can log in and buy tickets for the group as opposed to all 6 people refreshing. At least that way it would minimise the traffic.

I like that idea, actually makes sense and minimises the process. No need faffing about with details at the booking page etc.

Fuck ‘em. If they can’t get their arses out of bed one Sunday per year they don’t deserve to go.

In the past I've been guilty of this. And then learnt, but had a load of newbies to deal with so felt I had to respond. This year we've been very clear...I ignored any messages I got and they soon disappeared. And guess what? I got to the entering details stage for the first time in approx 12 different sales....

I didn't actually buy any tickets, but I still think this shows where a key problem lies!

Exactly the same here, I always look on the 15 to 25 minute slot as the golden ten minutes for me to be successful.

Just checked ours, between 17:57 and 18:21 (when someone got a sold out notice for the location they were trying), zero messages. We know the rules at Camp Ralph

I need to recuit a group leader then, preferrably with the combined characteristics of Stalin, the Terminator & Sir Alex Ferguson.
