Upvote downvote thingies

Should really just pm @eFestivals and ask but was chatting to the hubs earlier and neither of us know how it works. So technically you get 4 votes a day? They don't carry over? But questions are, do down votes come from that tally of four? (I rarely use them but wondering do they come from the same pot of four?)

Also, ye know when your upvotes run out, does that run from when the last upvote was given? Or from the first but if they don't carry over?

I just think I tend to see a lot of posts but save them in some arbitrary way but not really knowing. Sometimes on a hyper day you can be inclined to hang back and save them but unless I know the rules I'm wasting me uppies or downies. 

p.s, is there a way to up the quota in hyped times such as Brits and poster drop etc?

I believe so, yeah. it's 3 (or 4) 'reactions' a day.

no idea.

there's no way to make a temporary change.

The only one I can see is people aren't quite as generous with the upvotes as they are limited to 3 /4 a day .... the likes on fb just handed out like confetti

Yeah i usually save mine up and then either don't end up using them or actually forget however on Brits night I was out of my allocation early*

for example I got nearly 300 likes for ribbon tower on fb ... but maybe 3 upvotes on here ... maybe thats down to membership numbers ... maybe the limits too

It's like a foreign language to me! I just stick to the traditional up-votes (which I always thought just meant 'like')- they didn't have any of this blue-heart liking business in my day

According to my profile, I 'won' the day on efestivals, on  August 11th 2016 by having the most liked post (I think 3!), it changed my life forever

Shit i've just checked and I won the day on the 6th March, I didn't even know that was a thing! Did i get 3 points for this win in a league table?

no idea. 

I think it does a check to see how many votes you've cast in the 24 hour period prior to the point in time when you're trying to vote.  So you don't get a whole new allowance at the start of the day - it's a rolling 24 hour thing.
