If I've learned one thing from this year's festival posters so far, it's that Idles need a far more persuasive booking agent.

they’re headlining the 2nd stage at Kendal Calling on the same day

similar thing the day before with Truck / Standon

4 fests in 2 days for Idles

i don't think your wish has been granted to say the least (hunna is the clash right or are they after?)😂

To be honest, it would have had to be someone special to keep me away from the bar 😂

OK, I'm in, ticket bought.

Question for those who have been previously. Arriving Friday, what is traffic like mid morning? I need to be on site and in "The Quarry" for the first band "The Headspace" as two of my nephews are therein. They have been told they are "on" at midday. So I guess I need to be parked up no later than 11 so I can pitch my tent and get into the arena for midday.

Anyone help?

I’d probably say get to the site by about 10 if you’re wanting to watch a band at 12

Who's the new owner then @eFestivals

according to company house docs, it's 'JO Worldwide', which traces back to someone called Jason John Oakley (which is a new name to me, and googling doesn't reveal anything).

(thanks to JBarbour, as he did the research)

Any idea what the future may hold for the festival then?

It has a future for now otherwise the risk wouldn't have been taken on it

Looks like a newbie but could have ties to Broadwick and/or Global.

Cheers and @JBarbour so they're cut adrift then. Could find it hard booking acts for next year.

The booker for the Broadwick/Global events is/has been a freelancer so prob be ok and similar line ups to other events again, unless they go down a different route.

Given Count Of Ten also ran Truck among others and had a stake in Tramlines before Global got their hands on it, do we definitely know that it's just Y-Not that this new guy has taken over given he appears from Companies House records to have become sole director of the company and taken it back "independent" (the two remaining directors who resigned being the CEO and CFO of Global)? Feels like a risky thing to take over on the spot with a fully booked and sold festival less than two months away.

Its a guy called Jason Oakley through a newly incorporated business called JO Worldwide. I believe he as ties to Y Not and previously Count Of Ten and he's pals with the Count Of Ten/Y Not founders. Global is a lender to JO Worldwide. It could be a round about way of the founders acquiring the festival if they have a non-compete or similar clause after selling the events.

But as far as we know its solely Jason Oakley. I have a statement from Global that says as much.

Hearing that The Sherlocks have been booked for a secret set (not sure what day yet)

Good way of stopping them from trying to move themselves up the lineup - A* for thinking Y Not
