I wasn't sure whether this deserved a new topic, but the cost of gigs gets discussed in this thread a lot, and this seems like a new low on that front, so I'm just posting here.

What you're looking at are tickets to 'see' Bruno Mars at Wembley - except you don't see him, because you can't, because you're paying £60 to essentially overhear the gig from behind the stage. Wtf!?

bloody hell 😄 i was about to say that up in the gods tickets for £60 at wembley was approaching reasonable, even for a dwarven musical monstrosity like Bruno Mars, but to not even be able to see anything . . .

This was something that seemed to start with Eras, given there were behind-the-stage seats at those gigs, but at least Eras had a catwalk that stretched over half the stadium away. This is just ridiculous.

Yeah I remember when Harry Styles did that warm-up gig at the Coop Live for £20. He ended up giving out free tickets for the show that were behind where the arena stage usually is, only curtained off. So you would be behind a black curtain, truly audio-only. I don't mind that; the artist/venue wins as more people can go, buy merch/drinks; and the fans win as they can say they "saw" Harry Styles for free. £60 on the other hand...

Milan's La Scala has no view seats that usually go for 90€, so while Taylor is certainly groundbreaking in many ways, this is not one of them 😁

That's crazy. Might as well just stand outside the stadium!

My bad. Wasn't aware this has been a thing for a while in other live event spaces.

I'd still be narked to pay that much to see f**k all though.

I did see that and it was peculiar. But for £20, it's not necessarily the worst value in the world. It's certainly not £60 - you can see so many actual gigs for that price rather than just watching the rest of the crowd have a nicer time than you.

My partner had these tickets for Taylor.   The majority of the show was on the catwalk, and they put video screens up for the bits she couldn't see so  she actually had a really good time.

If it's something like that then fair enough I suppose, but these very explicitly say "No view - Audio only". What does it even sound like from the other side of the stage? Can't be the sound engineer's priority. Just seems an absolute con to me!

I have seen people got this tickets and would've had that experience. But I don't think Mars had that kind of production, did he?

Feel like we need to see if someone actually got those tickets and can vouch for what their experience was actually like.
