The fact that Arcade Fire were getting booked to headline festivals as little as a year after the allegations probably shows just how little their standing has been dented. Sure, they didn’t seem go be getting many calls from the major festivals, but I think in a couple of years when a new album comes out they’ll start popping back up at those too, albeit perhaps in lesser slots than they would’ve previously commanded. 

As far as Glastonbury goes, you’d think that they’d probably avoid bothering with them just to avoid any unnecessary flack. Yada yada they book controversial acts with sketchy pasts all the time, but I think stuff that’s happened particularly in a post-#metoo world is stuff they’d be wise to stay clear of - there’s no ‘grey area’ or plausible deniability anymore.

Nah not really. They took all of his PCs etc, searched everthing for months and found nothing. He was guilty only of what he was found guilty of. Not even the slightest suggestion he did anything, downloadedd anything or watched anything else.

Regardless of whether you or anyone else believes his story or not, they had someone on the Sex Offenders Register headlining the festival, which weirdly never seems to be mentioned during debates about people like Win Butler and Ryan Adams. Or John Peel in your case.

Agree 100% but not all behaviours are equal. 

Win and Ryan were actually sexually taking advantage of women while being manic aggressive stalker weirdos in positions of power. Peel was a self admitted paedo.

Bowie, Page and Plant, Iggy et al slept with underage groupie girls in the early 70s at a time when it was so acceptable in society that they wrote songs about it and people bought the records.

Townshend did none of those things, to anyones knowledge.

I think it's fair to say, unless someone like the Guardian pulls the trigger too early, unless the initial poster is released by Emily or the official account, it's probably fake.

Got a feeling there'll be a few of these in the coming weeks...
