Right now I think a mid-table Championship finish would be optimistic. It’s been almost ten years since we were last down there and we would not be well equipped to handle it.

I don't think Van Dijk needed any persuading. Ox is shit and wasn't needed.

I would say part of that is setting realistic targets and offering a good wage. I think VVD makes sense and is the best defender outside the teams who wouldn't sell to Liverpool in the premiership.

My main concern is most of the players Southampton have sold haven't particularly impressed me after making the step up.

Very young is definitely pushing it! I suppose it depends how you define as come good. Every club needs squad players, so would several years at that level count as coming good. I think he is destined to be forever cast as the utility player.

What you get when your owner gambles with your PL status time and again.

 

Thought we did well tonight, don't get the pundits having a go about the way Benitez set up, he set up for us to be in the game and we were till the final whistle, could have nicked a point. 

 

We are going to be in it at the end of the season so only conceding one tonight could play a huge part.

 

Basically Sky were fuming we prevented the festive free for all from Man City.
