Because they're nowhere near big enough to headline Glasto and headlined the Other Stage for the fourth time a few years back (having headlined the Pyramid in 2002, showing they've declined since then). Would be a embarrassing booking regardless of how good they are.

They're not a headline act at any major festival.

IOW are due to announce within the next week or two apparently. My bet would be Foals to be headlining the Sunday there before rocking up for a secret set at GF.

They’re doing three nights in a row elsewhere on this tour so I don’t see why they couldn’t do Sunday.

Given the state of the last few IOW lineups Foals could easily be the big act.

Latitude are announcing on Thursday and they have The Strokes down as a rumour - if Latitude announce them as a headliner then surely that will put to bed the idea of them headlining the pyramid?

Yes but it’s highly unlikely they will play Latitude at this point.
