Glasto peaches
Last year my feet were torn to shreds and I wondered if anyone could give me some advice on how to minimise this happening again. They've been sore before on previous times but last year was particularly bad. I tried the blister plasters, memory foam insoles but they still were f*cked. I'm not sure if I can afford walking boots. Thank you guys and massive good luck for the tickets this mornin.
Nobody Interesting
Try Regatta Outlet - good cheap boots (as low as £20) available and worth every penny. Also you can get some good deals on Hi-tec boots on Ebay. Wear them in for a few weeks before and you will be good to go.

TBH I just use some dunlop wellies at £10/12 and a nice thick pair of wellies socks....heat soakers usually.
Lucy92
Lots of socks and plaster tape on a roll so you can bind any sore spots. I invested in a very good pair of wellies for this year and had no trouble at all but they weren't cheap!
musky
I bought a pair of virtually new Magnum Elite II's off Ebay for £15 delivered a few years ago. There's a long way to go until the festival, plenty of time to spot a few bargains.

Smeble
Whatever your footwear they have to fit properly, blisters are caused by movement of your feet, make sure they fit well and are done up tightly, but not so tight they cut off feeling or blood supply
Cornelius_Fudge
before you put on socks, put vaseline on problem areas! I have chaffing/friction when I play sports aruond my heel and little toe, but vaseline before socks, then again after the socks, should help with less friction! Also, comfortable innersoles which you can pick up for a tenner

Andycamper
Wear thick socks and boot socks over them and try to keep your feet dry, talcum powder on your feet at night if it's a wet one helps a lot.
artl
Get some 1000 mile sox from a camping store - NOT of ebay/amazon - they are about 11 quid and WELL worth it + a pair of reasonable boots for around 20-30 quid - Go Outdoors - when they have a sale on are pretty good
Avalon_Fields
I still have Glastonbury toe, 15 weeks later. Not good.
scaryclaireyfairy
I wear my feet in for a few weeks before. Long walks off-path. Toughens up my tootsies nicely and gets the blisters over with. If you're not used to tramping miles upon miles, your feet are more likely to protest. Dave_c
I wear wellies I bought at the festival with a pair of normal socks then welly socks on top and never have a problem. As most have said, whatever your footwear, they need to fit snug to prevent movement.
Bluebella
I got lucky on ebay and got a pair of leather walking boots for £10 which fit really well. They are amazingly comfy and have lasted 3 muddy Glastonburys so far with plenty of life left in them. I put a pair of Sorbothane cush n step insoles in them which are very thick (just need to make sure your wellies/boots have room for them). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sorbothane-Cush-Step-Insoles-5-6-5/dp/B0056PS62S/ref=sr_1_12_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1476012612&sr=8-12&keywords=sorbothane&th=
Glastoboy
I used gel soles for the last two years - they are amazing - especially in wellies.
Flounder
Rigger boots - cheap Dunlop ones cost roughly £30 - got toe protectors in them. More expensive ones are better. You can stand in water all day, easy to take off. Crew generally wear them cos they work. You'll need long socks

Padgey
Suffered Glastonbury toe for the first time this year even though I've worn the same boots every year, it's just about gone bu couldn't understand what was wrong with it until I read about it on here. dizzymoo
I failed to get my act together to buy new wellies so ended up wearing the same wellies that completely wrecked my feet in 2015. But this time I had gel insoles and lovely soft Karrimor merino blend walking socks which feel wonderful. Only damage I sustained was when both wellies were snatched simultaneously by the mud. Peeled off mud-caked socks and put bare feet in wellies, got a blister walking to the nearest stall selling socks!
Glasto peaches
Thank you so much for all the advice. I always wear two pairs of socks but I think my wellies were a bit big.

I used walking boots (merrel moabs) proper walking socks that wick (see 1000 mile above) and a pair of cheap gaiters from trespass. my feet were dry all weekend, and i was working in the markets in calf deep slosh for most of the weekend. dry and unblistered feet for me. lyndseyo
I bit the bullet and paid out for Hunters this year. So glad I did since I didn't get the usual numb toe and soggy feet issues I get - although they are a bugger to get off when they're caked with mud since there's no pull tabs on them! Edit: I also paid out for some proper cotton hiking socks, they were £10 each but worth their weight in gold!
