Radiohead Headlining 2017

I've just realised they played my 3 absolute favourite songs in a row in their 03 set, TSH>CUTW>WIEAYB that is the dream! Besides those though I really want to hear: Weird fishes, 15 Step, National Anthem, Pyramid Song and How to Disappear Completely

I still am not clear what the "hits" are with radiohead. Creep, karma police, paranoid android, street spirit, no surprises and fake plastic trees I guess? They played 5 of those 6 the last 2 times they played. I cant see why they would want a quarter of the gig to be exactly the same as the last times they played, especially as they are unlikely to sound as good given that thom's voice is nowhere near as good these days.

I remember at their 2003 glastonbury set one woman kept screaming for them to play Creep throughout the entire performance, it was very annoying! It annoys me when people only know a few songs and seem to think the band should only play those.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they opened with Creep. Depends how tied they are to opening with Burn the Witch into Daydreaming.

I'd love them to play Let Down, and as I listed it's in my top 5 wish list, but they need to figure out a way to do the self harmony live. Maybe Ed can get involved?

Ha, did they play that last time? One of my bitter regrets is that in 2003 I wasn't particularly appreciative of 'there there' (I think that was their opener?), where as now I love it- if only I could travel back in time!

Yep, if they play Let Down I'm happy. They've just GOT to play Let Down, haven't they?!

One would think/very much hope so, considering how much its reared its head on this tour

The very name of it is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

But with Murphy's Law this will probably be the result! :(

And even if they knocked the performance out of the farm and I was walking away with a shit eating grin, if they did not play Let Down it would be a personal disappointment and something that would niggle at me taking away from from it all........

I don't think Daydreaming should be in the opening few songs, it's a bit too slow and minimal, they need to open with a bang. It would lose a lot of the casuals early on which will not help the overall atmosphere.

Mid-set maybe.

They didn't do the self harmony, Thom just sang through it. Would've been good to see Ed get involved or even more cool if they live sampled Thom to sing over himself like in Give up the Ghost. But it's still brilliant live.

I know, that's why I mentioned they need to find a way to pull it off. Sounds weird with Thom just going off in to the wailing bit with no one singing the lyrics.

Live sampling would be amazing but I think that's tough to pull off.

They played five out of those 6 at Berlin and Primavera (I think) and they still sounded pretty great.

Generally I'm all the way with you when it comes to their own shows. I would happily sub out Paranoid Android, Karma Police etc. But there's a time and a place to hear certain songs.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
