Not sure about the theories regarding the Reading announcement. Why would that make a difference? They don't share a promoter, do they?

no but my guess is that the promoters have a sort of gentleman's agreement as to not all announce on the same day - you don't often (if ever?) see it happening with UK fests

@eFestivals has guessed there could be one today and no one knows more about that kind of stuff than him

A second poster is a big deal in this forum and to people going, but to the wider media it means very little as the main acts have been announced. Its therefore not really treading on toes if it comes out the same day as Reading / Leeds.

Someone work out the dates of the second announcement for the previous ten years! Should give us a good idea 

Since the festival is essentially sold out, bar maybe a few hundred tickets in secret resales they aren't really under any pressure to announce anything. Plus they don't want other festival announcements stealing their thunder.

As it's the eFestivals way I'm taking this as we are hearing something tonight.

I think the main piece of evidence for something maybe coming today are craigy's posts.

Having looked back at the area announcements of last year they looked like this in regards to the days of the week they were announced:

Fri 8 May – Block 9 announces plans

 

Tues 12 May – Kids field line up announced

 

Fri 15 May – Avalon and Avalon café lineups announced

 

Tues 19 May – The Common line up announced

 

Fri 22 May - Silver Hayes line up announced

 

Mon 25 May – Leftfield line up

 

Tues 26 May – Glade line up

 

Thurs 28 May – Shangri-La line up

 

Fri 29 May – Arcadia line up

 

Tues 2 June – Full line up including days & set times

Yum indeed .... but, .... but do you want to be tying yourself down to be in a particular place at a particular time?

Surely it would inevitably clash with your favourite band / comedian / poet?

I think I would do it on the Wednesday if at all... I do tend to see a lot of bands on the Wednesday and Thursday though so it would be sod's law if the one act I really wanted to see clashed with it

This. It sounds amazing.

Having said that there's some awesome to be found in the fields (Goan Fish Curry anyone?) for a fraction of the price.
