You never been to the park? It's fucking massive. You can't really miss it.

Don't think I have mate. Not even been to the other stage yet.

Are you sure you've been to Glastonbury before? Because your posts read like an interloper

I'm not sure I even believe you're a manc and like new order anymore.

Suspicious. Got my beady eye on you

Not sure how I can validate my Manc credentials. The accent is undeniable though unfortunately. Thankfully I have been spared the King Monkey walk.

I honestly feel as if I missed out on an awful lot last year. My mates were just not interested in embracing the so called Glasto spirit, they just wanted to get smashed round the tent. There is so much I really need to see and I am determined to do and see more this year. The only plan I had last year was to see Hot Chip. We did not even find out about the Blues until the Saturday and all the stages down that end.

Last year we just went with the flow. This year I am determined to have a bit more of a plan and do a little more, starting with the meet up. Where I will show you my I love Gillian Gilbert tattoo, which will surely certify my love of New Order. :D

Wish more people had this mindset! I never push through the crowd when it's busy or when an act is on, but sometimes (often between acts) when the crowd is quite spaced out and dispersed, my friends will want to get closer and I'm always the lone 6"3 guy feeling anxious that I've just stood in front of someone who now can't see anything.

I'll always apologise and ask if they'd like to stand in front of me instead but it''s definitely no fun feeling like everyone behind you wants to chop your lanky legs off.

it took me a while to accept that it's something i'm not going to be able to change and to stop getting irritated! it's the same thing with pushing and shoving - i used to get really annoyed but now i accept that it's par for the course and instead of getting angry to just let it go and dance more. unfortunately i think some people still get pissed off, which is understandable but also there's nothing that can be done so it's a waste of negative energy!

This is mainly because I'm too lazy, but just going by past experience, some things I just don't get round to.

  1. Make something in the craft fields.  I hated craft at school, mainly because I was rubbish at it.  Last thing I need is some extra luggage on the way home that reminds me of my incompetence at making things.

I had a go at the stone carving in 2013 with a dream of making an ashtray for a friend. After a couple of hours of the stone getting increasingly smaller due to overly aggressive carving and sanding, I was left with what was effectively a large pebble with a small dip in the middle.

2. Not going to watch comedy (I never hear it properly at festivals)

It can be very good, especially if they are tired. Mark Steel in 2014 went on a particularly impressive angry and slightly surreal rant on the Sunday morning/lunchtime.

see frank sanazi     http://franksanazi.com/

Frank was one of my favourite gigs last year in the comedy tent. Arrived early and got the last half of his set and was gutted I missed the whole thing. A Nazi Frank Sinatra tribute was just the pick me up I needed at the time.

Used to love watching Marcus Brigstock, Phil Jupiter et al tackle the issues of the day each morning. The morning after Michael Jackson died was a particular highlight.

That was a brilliant morning.  Tent was pretty full as it was raining, was a great atmosphere and the slightly stunned nature of that performance made it all the better.  The rain was done when they finished and the weather brilliant right through til after the music finished Sunday, great start to the entertainment for me.

I'm with you there, I'm like a piece of flubber when people shove past me now and just spring back to where I was stood. It used to really get me angry but people are never going to stop doing it so there's no point having a tantrum every time.

There have been times where some people have been really rude and nearly pushed some of my friends to the ground without apologising. No excuse for that, and there's been plenty of times where it can be pretty dangerous to be pushing in a big crowd.

Thankfully Glastonbury generally seems much better for this than other fests. :)

1) try and use the she-pee. Queued for toilets then thought why not try it so joined queue for urinal only to not be able to let go and had to queue for loo again.

2) go to the stone circle for the fireworks. Waited ages only for them to go off when I went for a pee.

3) wander aimlessly. Took me till the Saturday when kids arrived to feel it was ok to just sit and chill instead if exploring.

1) I will not have a curry at glasto again! apart from my favourite and trusted thai green

2) I will not cook my own food at the tent again or take too much unnecessary shit with me. such as large stove!

3) I will not go with the group to a "cool" band. thus totally wasting my time.

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
