I was mid height at the O2 and seemed to be ideal. Being on one of the ends did mean that the we couldn't fully appreciate some of the stuff on the screens though as we were close to side on.

Whilst trains after the gig are being mentioned - if anyone is going to the O2 this week I really recommend walking 'round the back' of the underground station. It's about an extra 50 meters to walk in from the other side but avoids all of the crowd control so can save you what I'd guess is about 15 minutes of slow shuffling.

I had standing tickets last Friday in Manchester, never been so close before, really enjoyed the gig but couldn't really see some of the screens at times as projections were shining in our eyes - didn't matter as we were busy playing in the moshpit.  Looking forward to seeing them at Glastonbury, really hope there are no bad clashes for me.

They're messing with my head again!

I'm now really hoping that the programmers put one of my must-sees against Muse. Having been resolutely against seeing them, remembering time after the how they're no longer 'for me', Child 3 and I put on some tracks tonight. We were talking about what would be amazing opening songs etc. He asked, if you found out they opened with 'this' and you hadn't gone to see them, would you be annoyed?

The track was Hyper Music.

We listened to it bloody loud, heads banging away at all the brilliant riffs. We looked at each other as the bass line kicked in and imagined the whole of Glastonbury bouncing to an amazing opening song. And so, for just one moment, I could see myself there, having the sort of fun I had so many years ago at Muse shows. We talked about them following that immediately with MM and then Showbiz! We talked about them closing with Megalomania. Oh my.

I think they'll put together a festival friendly set for Glastonbury. Sadly I think that will mean that Madness/UD/SMBH and all the others that I just can't really abide anymore will be in there. But I think I'll be somewhere else, very happy....but wondering!

:)

TBH looking at their set lists for this year you are guaranteed the following:

  • Psycho
  • Reapers
  • The handler
  • Supermassive black hole
  • Knights of Cydonia
  • Time is running out
  • Plug in baby or Bliss
  • Stockholm syndrome or Hysteria
  • Uprising
  • Dead inside
  • The globalist

Variables that might drop

  • Citizen erased
  • Map of the problematique
  • Undisclosed desires
  • Supremecy
  • Butterflies & hurricanes
  • United States of Eurasia
  • Sunburn
  • Panic station
  • Apocalypse please
  • Revolt
  • Take a bow
  • Mercy

I can't see anything not on that list being added, personally I would like to see Assassins live as never see it before

I personally prefer to take the ferry back to central after. The ferry leaves just after 11 and its a nice journey.

The queues for the underground were crazy - I got the bus!

I'm sure Muse said at their last Reading/Leeds appearance 2011 that they are no longer going to play tracks from Origin Of Symmetry. I remember them playing it in full then finishing off with everything else. Ive not seen them since, have they gone back on that?

I'm sure Plug in Baby, Feeling Good, Bliss, Citizen Erased, and New Born will always be in some sort of rotation. No longer set staples though.

The rest are unlikely to be played again, save special occasions (think Hyper Music briefly resurfaced last year)

They didn't say exactly that. They said that show would draw a line under that era of their career or something along those lines, and some people took that to mean that nothing would be played again from the album.

New Born, Bliss, Hyper Music, Plug in Baby, Citizen Erased, Micro Cuts and Feeling Good have all been played multiple times since then and all of those bar New Born, Hyper Music and Micro Cuts are in rotation on the current tour.

That Origin set at Reading was amazing! I've really tried to get into the albums that followed Origin and Showbiz but I really can't :/

Agreed it was a great set, I'm a fan of Absolution but struggle to get into the albums that followed.

That's crazy talk.

Absolution is phenomenal. Not perfect, but a great record. Everything thereafter, not so much... ;)

I tuned out after Black Holes.. I still saw them on the Pyramid in 2010 and went to see them in 2013. Worth catching live, but there will need to be nothing else for me to make me go to the Pyramid when they play.

Entirely this.

    • Blink 182 have been announced here at Rock im Park for next year this evening so you'd think Download will follow up from Green Day and get them. Be a mad miss if they don't.   In which case I'm going with Blink, Slipknot and the 3rd could be many options. If they get Foos for the 3rd it'll be the best trio I can remember for a long time. It would absolutely rip this years as a trio to shreds and I say that as a LP big fan.
