The whole point of it being someone elses battle cos you dont have the same bits is exhausting. if you believe everyone should be treated the same then its as much your battle as it is anyone elses. Bits don't come into it and therein lies the problem.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet but Doreen Doreen have played Glastonbury and come with my highest recommendation. All fantastically camp covers (Smells Like Teen Spirit is good too). Can't remember if they even do a Duran song but they are great value.

Do they do a cover of Jolene, but titled Doreen? That would be something.

I would do sex wee to watch Duran Duran again. Grew up loving them and wanting to be them, that was until Alien Sex Fiend were thrust upon me.

But I would love to be in a field at night with a big rum or gin in my hand singing along to the Chauffeur or any of the early classics.

Although they may not be seen as musically credible by some I think I would rather have been in Duran Duran than say for example,  the smiths. Looked liked a good laugh with all the yachts,  cocktails, supermodels,  white trousers,  espadrilles etc

I don't mind a lot of Duran Duran stuff because it's OK and it reminds me of my youth. This on the other hand;

is completely shite in comparison to this;

That cover is rather bad, but I'd say 95% of all recorded music is complete shite compared to the Steve Harley version, including everything else he did.

It's just one of those lightning in a bottle, perfect records. From the slightly longer than expected pause to that lovely classical guitar solo (played on steel strings), to the ooh-la-las. It's just a really, really great rendition of a great song. I'd say covering that tune is as daft as covering The Beach Boys. It's already been pretty much perfectly done, you'll only sound bad if you try to one up the original.

But that was a bad cover, fair play.

With regard to equality of the sexes - only the morally wrong and the insane could ever argue that there shouldn't be equality. Unfortunately there are whole swathes of the morally wrong and insane in power. Once that power is broken though, they'll be no going back. So, it's definitely worth fighting for. I think it's up to everybody decent to do their bit, whether female or male. Once we have true equality across the spectrum, not just of the sexes, then we'll all gain. Considerably.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
