festivals of note the same weekend:

Tinderbox (Denmark)

Down the Rabbit Hole (Netherlands)

Hurricane Festival (Germany)

Southside Festival (Germany)

Werchter, Open'er, Roskilde Open Air St. Gallen, Bravalla and Eurokeennes are all the weekend after, probably a few others too.

This is how it will go...

2-3 more large-scale festival appearances to be announced over the next 2 weeks.

Glastonbury to be the final announcement, headlining the Saturday night.

The album to then drop mid to end March.

Of course I hope I am wrong and it drops tomorrow.

I think the album is being 'showcased' at primavera so I am expecting it to be around then

I would be surprised if they left the album release so late in the day before these appearances. Although having said that, how far in advance had Radiohead release TKOL before debuting it at Glastonbury?

Four months, so a fair bit.

Radiohead is looking more and more likely, I don't think Muse makes as much sense if I'm honest. Either gonna be severe joy or severe heartbreak in this thread.

can't really compare a bunch of festival headline sets with a secret set on a tiny stage. i think the album will come out a fair while before all of these shows

That's what I mean. It feels to me the album will be out in the next month or so. By that time hopefully they will have been announced. I am a massive Radiohead fan so I may lack perspective, but, are they considered headline material for Glastonbury these days? As a purist I of course say yes, but the Adele/Muse/Coldplay crowd would certainly not be happy with them headlining....

Not that I give a shit about them.

they're definitely considered a headliner. how the performance would go down to the general public is another thing entirely, and i guess depends on what their new album sounds like/what kind of setlist they do. i'm guessing a lot of people will moan that it's all a bit drab and depressing, but those people can go suck a dick. imo they're the best possible headliner the festival could book for this year

Forgive me but if Radiohead play will they play the BBC Saturday night TV watcher songs or do something weird like just play the entire new album?

Was taking a look over their festival setlists from their last tour in 2012, they seem to play a good mix of IR+TKOL and then a few of 'the hits'

I think it'd be heavy new album/In Rainbows/TKOL (maybe less TKOL than the others), with the odd old cult favourite and one or two 'hits' at the most.

Hard to tell until setlists start appearing though.

Fuji Rock setlist is a bit niche:

Karma Police
Myxomatosis
Feral

Encore:
Give Up the Ghost
You and Whose Army?
Planet Telex
Everything in Its Right Place
Reckoner

Encore 2:
