Quite frustrating really that there's not much of an opportunity to see them closer to home. Can't see them playing any festivals in this country any time soon either.

I have faith in a Latitude headline slot in the future. They fit the festival, Latitude are batting for bigger headliners every year, and it was Festival Republic that got them over here for R&L.

Although I do like to pull reasons out of my arse why my favourite bands should play Latitude.

That's a shame, never seen them but always wanted to.

I think it was 1986 The Cure first played { sorry they all merge into one so my dates are not great }

I got into them though a mate who was a school mate of Robert Smith  in Crawley and the first few times I saw them live was though him sorting out guests passes but I really loved their music.

As they were playing at Glastonbury some friends who had never been before splashed out £17 for a weekend ticket { dead easy in those days as they were sold in the CND shop in London }

anyone who was lucky enough to be there will recall a huge electric storm that was directly behind the Pyramid stage and it was amazing away - has to be one of the best concerts I have ever seen and when they played Faith the place went ballistic.

You never know we may be lucky in a few years.

sorry for the rough image - I actually have that poster in my collection so sometime in the future I will scan it to make a better image. 1986Poster.thumb.jpg.7b21abf95273e4d0681Image1.thumb.jpg.03eb97c0e416d03dc4439f2

Brilliant set list!

Indeed- fantastic set list

When I saw them at Leeds a few years back as it was a Saturday night I did hope they'd play 10.15 on a Saturday night at 10.15 (cheesy I know) but they didn't

Aha :P.

Rob messed up the intro to Friday I'm In Love at Reading and said "Sorry, wrong key. But at least I got the right day eh". Equally cheesy but it was a joyous moment.

Why aren't The Cure headlining mayn :(

# site is still playing up and I just cant edit/remove above #

just by luck I found this - sorry no music from The Cure but I am sure some people would like to see it as it gives general shots of Glasto 1986 - and it sure was from Glasto 1986 as I spotted a few people walking with the 1986 Programme { which cost £1 } - shame we did not see more of Drug Alley { between the Pyramid and the Market } as that was always good for a laugh but I would imagine walking about with a video camera would have caused some friction .What strikes me is the complete contrast to 1985 which had really bad mud { so bad that most of my friends never went back }

Going do a Who, I am convinced :P

Mind it would involve a fair amount of changing around the Pyramid if they replaced anyway to fit their set in!

(Also agreed, that setlist Glasto-Worker posted is bloody ace to.)

No Glasgow dates again!!

it will need to be Manchester then

That's what I'll be aiming to get tickets for.

Mind you I remember when I saw them in Stockholm a few years back when only UK date was London there were a few Scots there that had found it easier to pick up a cheap flight to Stockholm to see them rather than travel to London.

That was partly why we went to Stockholm as it was weekend and easier for childcare

Aye I was thinking around that price. I wonder if they'll look to add extra nights when they sell out, or it its only gonna be the two gigs.

Saw them twice in one year a few years back at both Primavera and Leeds, great really long sets and would totally recommend them if you haven't seen them even if just casual fan (like myself)

Not sure if going for Manchester date but I might change my mind by Friday lol
