It's Florence

Excellent choice, she should have had the headliner instead of that usless Hip Hop twat anyway

Wow Denwyn. I remember when you were an interesting chap on these boards. Now you're coming across all bitter.

People are forgetting that Florence isn't some sort of diva, and chose to sub Glastonbury for a lot less money, rather than headlining TinP, V Festival, R&L, which I'm sure she could have done.

She's been asked to step up at short notice, she's accepted it. Simple as that.

You may not like her or her music, but she's extremely popular

For me it's not so much that Florence is headlining, it's that she was already subbing so it's not like we weren't going to get a Florence set - I don't think her headlining will be all that different from what she was going to do anyway. So we're basically losing a headlining act in Foo Fighters and gaining nothing (so far). I doubt that anyone else at that level will be brought in to replace Florence in the sub spot (due to the short notice) so it's disappointing.

I can't see this crowd shift that all you lot seem to see.

- One of, if not the biggest Other Stage crowds since I've been going in 2010

- Catchy single played pretty much constantly on R1, therefore...

- Popular with the 'pop crowd', where as there was no headliner of this genre before

Also, people hang around the Pyramid like leeches. Anyone could headline and they'd be there, because it's the Pyramid. Won't be as small as Gorillaz or Metallica.

I think they'll bring in a popular sub too (Ronson or a replacement or something), rather than shifting Motorhead

It's crazy isn't it. Apparently SFA will be rammed with Foo's fans now :P

I'm happy for her and the band and happy for me as it means I now get to go to the Super Furry Animals party up in The Park :)

I've got a friend at the BBC and have heard that the BBC have agreed to stream Today at Wimbledon onto the Pyramid Big Screen between 21:00 and 22:15.

Wimbledon doesn't start until the 29th June

Considering she was already playing it's a bit of a swizz/cop out if you ask me. Something of Glastonbury's size, surely they could have got someone new in?

How about you run a festival, then explain what a cop-out is

I'm not bashing Flo. She seems genuine and very popular but unfortunately her voice grates on me like nails on a blackboard (Kanyes voice does exact same thing for me).

I was going to Foos due to my youngest wanting to see them, and knowing it would be a great show, but now have a real dilemma - Hot Chip (who I really like) OR SFA (who I really like). The undercards of each are also on a par.

Telling mates on FB who are gutted about Foos pulling out how spoiled for choice we really are.

I'm inclined to say, and feel, like it was a lazy decison on GFL's part, but given the timescale I'm not certain what else they could have done.

If they want to fill the sub slot then they could do worse than pull Wilko out of Acoustic and give him the Pyrmaid slot he truly deserves.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
