Ah, "the tree" has an official name, "Lonely Tree". I know you don't think of "Lonely Tree" as "the tree" glasto-worker, so I shall endeavour to refer to it as "Lonely Tree" whenever talking to you in future!

As you know the other one was replaced - I should have got a marker on it but there was so many things to do that it went right out my head.

We were invited to a secret area so that we could hammer out all the labels - problem was ' what to leave out ' as it would get very messy if we listed everything.

I've often thought that one of those corners on the walkway between Silver Hayes and Other has to be the worst camping spot in the entire festival. Any other contenders for this?

As this is last year's layout, aye, there was only one way up to the railway track. If they're changing it around again, it may change, but I suspect they'll keep just one exit at that end of the field.

There were definitely 2 entrances for avalon last year, was with a toddler so was reasonably sober!

Hope they keep it that way as it's handy

Absolutely true, especially if it rains. I took this picture of a sorry looking tent in that rough area (or maybe closer to Pennards) in 2005:

It slopes down towards the backstage compounds which are lower, in 2005 when lots of other areas flooded there was a river running across in front of the other stage, but no standing water.

But it won't be a problem as we are going to have a heat wave

Nicely done.. One correction I'd make.. The map implies that the route between Cockmill and the Acoustic Field is blocked by the nearby Staff camping. This is definitely a public route, a very useful one if you're trying to get between the Pyramid and the Acoustic and want to avoid the crowds.

It does smell bad in by the green fence, depending on the wind direction, there are large slurry silos on the other side of the green fence.

we use to have a crew camp next to the bus station and we ended up working in the park bar - it was muddy that year and it took us all two hours to walk it - some people just camped behind the bar as the trek back was not worth it.

four hours round trip was a right pain and I made certain I never got that bar again.
