It's strange how it fits perfectly in view of the webcam between a tree and where the sound desk things were, plus the lines in the eyes almost point directly towards it, definitely part of its placement is deliberate as far as the webcam is concerned.

Yeah I would think so.  All this speculation is great PR for Glastonbury, even before it's officially announced.

I don't get why they would leave it half finished overnight though. Any impact from the announcement will have died down. We all know now what it is and what the announcement will be.

because most people will not be sitting avidly in front of the webcam.  most people won't give a shit, and will just see a cool photo tomorrow.

Well, it was on 6 music earlier and most outlets that cover music have a story on it. And it's all over Facebook. I'm not sure how many people that have an interest in Glastonbury will be unaware of it by tomorrow morning!

Maybe they got delayed, they probably only needed another hour after all

aye even stuff like Pitchfork has reported on it now. it's out there! doesn't make it any less exciting and i'll still be hyped as fuck when it gets officially announced, but getting it all done in one day would've been much better

I'm no PR expert but in my mind doing it this way creates a lot more speculation and excitement than simply revealing a giant picture on the pyramid. Deliberately leaking it on the webcam and leaving it half finished actually makes it more talked about and more exciting than simply revealing it.

i don't think this afternoons preceedings will have done much to dampen any hype.  i'm in the 'don't really give a shit camp' and i'm interested. it's the longest announcement ever.  first ever two-dayer!

It's not really speculation though is it? It's clearly an announcement that Radiohead are headlining Glastonbury :P

But it was speculation when they started drawing it, nobody could be sure what it was when they drew a circle could they? As it developed some people realised it was a Radiohead logo but it had already drawn interest before that, now everybodies going nuts on here, twitter all the news outlets etc. It's more exciting for people to think they've discovered something by accident than it simply being revealed.
