Yes, much too early. Remember how the ground dried up over the weekend in 2005? I'd say that's only a concern in the week before and by then they have virtually no choice.

I do, I was amazed.  I think the way the festival carried on and recovered helped fuel my instant love for Glastonbury.  But I also remember 2011(?) where there was lots of rain prior to the festival.  It didn't rain nearly as much as it did in 05/07 but many places remained a knackering trudge most of the weekend - mainly due to rain in weeks prior to the festival.

Glad it's too early for me to fret!  Also I've checked the weather thread and June is gorgeous :D

If you click "Hot Spots", on the bottom, it adds markers and descriptions for many of the main stages and locations.

Excellent, looking at this will not help you much when you get there though, the site is huge, you have no idea. There's nothing quite like your first Glastonbury, I'm so jealous, you are going to have the best time.
Charm x

Is that the framework for the fence on the far right now? Or are they toying with me again?

There's no framework needed for the Super Fortress fence (ie the big scary one) so it won't be that - the picture looks like standard Heras fencing to me.

Looks like a fence skeleton to me.

I think that's only some of the temporary security chain link fencing that's used to cordon off areas with plant or hedgerows etc. Looking at last years webcam shots the proper outer fence is at a different angle at this location (I think!)

Is the John Peel Tent going to be where the digger is to the far left? Or maybe just behind that point?

Having looked at the map I think its new field is the one behind the JCB thingy. The one in front is Spring Ground.

I think.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
