Nando's

Wrigley The Troll

Recommended Posts

The most overrated food joint on earth. Next to Pret a mange or whatever it's called. Nandos is just chicken. With a simple sauce marinating it. And average chips.

I prefer rice with mine!

I'm quite interested in the Nando's phenomenon. Obviously we all know it's average food so why so much love for it? Brilliant marketing or just lucky?

Cause it's the cheekiest chicken around

Who can remember the poster from years back.

He always said Reading was better than Glasto as you could leave the Reading site , wander into the town centre watch the football in a pub then go for a Nando's before heading back to see some bands ?

He used to get proper irate on these boards and I do miss him !

Scarcity, perhaps? There are relatively few stores compared to most chains and a lot of those are clustered in big cities so a lot of people are likely to hear a load of bollocks about it from people visiting cities or going away for uni before actually going.

To be fair Nando's IS better than at least 1/3 of the food at Glastonbury.

This is true but the 1/3 of run of the mill burger vans might as well be invisible to me & most of the people I go with, why would you spend £5 on a shit burger when you can get something quality & tasty next door.

Much like what would be the point in the Nandos when you could get some beautiful, bbq'd jerk that you can't buy on any given high street.

Are their any decent chicken vendors at Glastonbury?

I vaguely remember a jerk chicken place in Shangri La a few years back, I know as it was all we talked about the next morning, but that's all changed down there now.

I tend to avoid chicken to avoid the risk of getting ill &/or the runs.

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
