FloorFiller
returners: Radiohead, Coldplay, ?, ? (going through the list of previous headliners, not a clue after those two. thought Blur and Muse but both seem unlikely imo. unless they've gone and done the unthinkable and got Bowie or something, or bagged the Oasis reformation) new: Adele, ? (could be just about anybody) Edited September 9, 2015 by FloorFiller
Zoo Music Girl
Yeah Coldplay and Radiohead seem the obvious returners. Then yeah Blur and Muse are all I can think of... curious. And probably bollocks. Oh and Bowie of course.
Zoo Music Girl
Foos got to be on of the new ones.
dentalplan
U2 said they wanted another go didn't they? And have a new album out soon? They're going in my prediction.
FloorFiller
U2 said they wanted another go didn't they? And have a new album out soon? They're going in my prediction. seems too soon to me for an act who's booking was especially huge. i think they've had there chance, at least for a good few years* *although if they're willing to bring The Who back i guess they'd make the exception for U2 if they really wanted to do it. don't think it'll be them though
Festival Liam
The only two new is the most interesting/boring part. Considering the possibilities of Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Adele, Elton John, Biffy Clyro, Foals, Madonna and Adele have all been talked about reasonably seriously.... it seems a little stale if in the next two years we only get two of those (without even considering bands in two years who might have been elevated to headliner status). sisco
Could be 2 brand new to the festival and 4 who have already played (like Biffy Clyro have but not headlined). That being said, 1 brand new headliner this year and 1 new one next year isn't a shock surely?
stuartbert two hats
Foos got to be on of the new ones.Depends whether we're talking new to the festival or new to headlining. Technically that would make Adele 'returning', but at least when Foos played a million years ago they were on a proper stage.
FloorFiller
'new to it' to me suggests new Glastonbury headliners, rather than new to headlining altogether etc. still though, narrows the list significantly, and makes acts like Biffy, Elton etc seem incredibly unlikely considering the other 'new' options available
dentalplan
It specifies in the article that the returning headliners "have topped the bill before" rather than just playing the fest.

Radiohead, Coldplay, Bowie and Oasis as wild cards, Muse and Blur as boring predicables who don't seem likely because of album release dates etc (unless either of those are planning on doing a new album any time soon which seems unlikely) Edited September 9, 2015 by FloorFiller

FloorFiller
When Coldplay is a wild card, you know you're in trouble. sorry that was 'Bowie and Oasis as wildcards' with 'Radiohead and Coldplay' being nailed on. poor punctuation on my part! dentalplan
Radiohead 'nailed on'? Blimey.
FloorFiller
Radiohead 'nailed on'? Blimey. well, i say this as i look through the previous headliners and can't see any that i think the festival would go for over Radiohead. obviously it boils down to if they want to do it, but in terms of returning headliners, they seem like the obvious option over almost anybody else, unless the festival fancies giving Travis or Stereophonics another stab

Mash011
'Radiohead nailed on' is exactly what I want to hear. Dream gig right there. Aside from that, could Foo's count as 'returning'? Could be one of them if we're actually going with that..
russycarps
Moby, Carter USM as 2 of the returning headliners I reckon.

Tuna
Seems daft to have booked the 2017 headliners now. Lots can change by then. I get the year in advance, but 2 really seems quite silly. Edited September 9, 2015 by Tuna
brettredmayne
I bet it's radiohead and I don't get tickets now
Little Andy
Haven't we learnt not to believe anything Michael says in regards to this kind of stuff? I believe none of it b
Djb.com
If it's come from michael eavis though there's a good chance that 4 returning and 2 new is exactly what we won't get. However the idea of radiohead being nailed on is brilliant news.
Brave Sir Robin
Looks like Michael's realised everyone's bored of him saying next year's headliners are booked and has upped the ante. I'll eat my hat* if this turns out to be accurate. *Or perhaps a hat made of foodstuffs. EDIT: The two posts above weren't there when I wrote that - great minds, etc. Edited September 9, 2015 by Brave Sir Robin
sheffieldlady
I like how we have gone into the next two years. Isn't this Micheals typical comment? I would love it to be Radiohead. Please ticket gods, be kind!
