The thought of people obsessing over Radiohead/Roses/Prince/ next year.

Whoa there fella. I thought we were all in agreement that Depeche Mode were headlining next year.

TBH, if they announce Adele (which is likely), then they have the biggest headliner of any festival in the world this year

I agree she is the biggest potential headliner in the world currently, and the biggest coup for the festival since U2. Just not particularly festival forum friendly

Exactly this. Oh, and got a text 10 mins ago from somebody who should should know that says Adele is booked. Think of that what you will. I believe them.

If that is the case it is a good booking for the festival, she must be the most sought after name in music right now.

If they are I should be able to let you know fairly early

I am going to stick £20 on them I think. They are back in the studio in April apparently so next year's festival would come at the right time.

I reckon it is now or never for them.

Surely the Stones are the festival's last big get?

Not really, the Stones were already doing the occasional music festival at the time they were booked to do Glasto. So not really a coup. As far as I can tell, U2 hadn't played a music festival before, and haven't since? I am probably wrong though!

Last I heard was Dave was interested in the slightest.  But that was last year.

So what do you guys reckon about the final pyramid headliner announcement? Will it come with the poster release, or sooner?

From what Michael and Emily said in that interview at the NME Awards, it looks like we may have all we're getting for now, but you never know with them!

And the fact that the announcement tonight came at 5:12pm makes me wonder if it really was planned for tonight, or it was a last minute decision for Muse to self-confirm this eve.

Yeah, sure you can see someone else, there's loads of stages, all of that, but it's perfectly possible to love the festival but still find this years headlining acts to be dull, uninspired bookings.

Anyway, hope all those dreary c**ts who signed the Kanye petition last year are happy with this.

Muse aren't dull, even though their latest music has been shite. Don't think I will see them unless they play their old stuff/good songs.

Here is to hoping for someone good to clash. My comment was more aimed at the doom and gloom people.

Would be a shame really if they never played. We can worry about that next year.

I will be off to Berlin to watch them no matter what. It is on my bucket list.

I will, of course, see someone else and have a fantastic time, as I have at every previous festival. That doesn't affect my right to express my opinions about headliners, both good and bad. I'm not even particularly thinking of myself here - I'm thinking of my best mate who's going to his first Glastonbury this year. I'd hoped we'd get to experience an amazing Pyramid headline set together, as there really is nothing like it.

I'm heading to my first one. I'm a bit meh about both headliners but I wouldn't be depressed to see either. My comment was more aimed at the doom and gloom merchants. In the grand scheme of things and comparing to other festivals, muse and Coldplay are seen as big headliners.

Adele will be announced as the next headliner which will be huge (again not in my opinion).

Yeah, I agree, they're 3 of the biggest acts in the world, any festival organiser would dream of that. It's just a bit predictable, that's my problem with it. No risk taking there.

Lol I hate Muse but not really crying at the fact they're headlining. There will be plenty more to see. And it's not like it wasn't obvious it was going to be them.

I still think the final headliner will be a little surprise. Don't have anyone in mind but it's just a gut feeling I have . I don't like Radiohead or Adele either but if they're announced I still won't throw my toys out of the pram like some of you are.

    • Hope they skip the fireworks and the burning of the man this year tbh, seemed dodgy last year with all the reports of embers and this year is drier. Don't want to be a killjoy but it's only a big bonfire at the end of the day.    May also need extra care with BBQ and gas stoves etc, always worries me slightly in the campervan field where vans are very very close together!    Not had campervan pass in the mail yet either.   Looking forward to the beer festival and enjoying a few pints while taking in some mellow tunes in the walled garden if the sun carries on shining like this 😎
    • Haha yeah maybe not the best comparison as Gavin seems a good lad. It was to express how he's usually spot-on with his information
    • Ah then yeah one of them has gotta be a very strong chance.
    • I think there could, repeat COULD, be some truth to this Madonna stuff, re BST and no Glastonbury.   Think it's demands around stage/production stuff.
    • Yes sorry for delay in replying! I'll message you when I put it on there. I think it goes live next week
