What in the name of god is this?

" Their 2011 set was later voted the Top Glastonbury Moment of the event’s long history by BBC Radio listeners. "

they obviously haven't heard of the Bowie performance then.

I wasn't even 'gig initiated' when he played but I remember watching in awe on the telly.

If we get a good WH headliner, I am fine with that, but I don't see the appeal of LCD. Coldplay bore the arse off me too

As long as there's an alternative to Coldplay.

Radiohead, New Order and LCD would probably see me confined to two stages which is annoying, its either that or clash central.

I hope your wrong mate as I am hoping EWF are Sat night headlines so I can see both of them! Missed Coldplay in 2011 to see the Chems instead.

you should be ok, I checked after posting this and EWF are in Ireland on the Sunday so they won't be doing Sunday

edit - nope ignore all that, I am wrong it's Dublin Tuesday

worst kept secret in this years lineup has been confirmed and the reaction is still as mental as expected. I thought most would have come to terms with the fact coldplay were going to play. If you like them then great go see them, if you don't then go elsewhere, there is always an alternative. My Mrs loves them so i may have to compromise but one things for certain I have at least saved some cash not forking out for manchester or wembley.

Have just had a colonoscopy. Sat waiting for the drugs to wear off and logged on here to find out Coldplay are headlining. Would rather have a colonoscopy than watch Coldplay.

I love how much chat the Coldplay news has caused even though we have known for months!

Does this make it less likely that we get anything else from the NMEs do we think?

Indeed, I had 100% expected it to be announced at the NME awards.

It seems to me unlikely that any major news would come the day after the first headliner was announced though, but hopefully there will be some info worth chewing over.

I got to watch it all on the big screen. What I seen was not very pretty so it may have been my head. Saying that it looked very angry and that is definitely not something I can be accused of being :-)

I know it sucks right, there is literally only one stage at this Glastonbury thing, and you have to watch it all the time.. Someone should tell the Eavii to put on some more stages so there might be some alternative to watching Coldplay if you don't like them.  Otherwise they will end up with a load of people complaining about headliners and there being nothing else to watch.

Muse surely won't be too far away from confirming the way it's looking.

The only ? is this potential Adele, Foo Fighters....Radiohead third headliner for this year.

The Guardian did a suggestion that Adele and Beyonce were the other two headliners to fit in with this female powered lineup this year.

Though sadly I'm convinced Muse are headlining sigh

and Radiohead well I have no idea where they fit with all these rumours

Radiohead yes, Muse no no no

    • It's a smart move because week after we have 5 fests: Download, Nova Rock, Greenfield, Mystic, Sweden Rock
    • Oh I 100% agree and I'm questioning a lot.
    • That would be a day ticket for Friday going based on that. In 2027 that would suck for me lol.
    • And it's been moved forward a week, same weekend as RaR
