New 2015 Map

Was a corking year for disorganisation, which led to the Tuesday night car park thing. At about Midnight on the Tuesday the police forced the festival to let punters in who were putting themselves at risk by milling around on foot on the roads around the festival. My mate text me to let me know, but I was passed out drunk 2 miles away and ended up not getting on site until 3.30 pm after spending 6 baking hours at Bath and West park and ride waiting for buses that never came.

this brings up brilliant images in my mind!

Yeah, it would be quite an upheaval and they'd need to be careful with moving the greenfields too close to any really loud areas.

On a slightly different tack, I enjoying finding this map from 2003 (my first year) and seeing how much the site has changed.

Cheers for that- 2003 was my 1st too so interesting viewing

Still worth a recy on the Weds/Thurs. Must be another way in somewhere.

I remember in 2009 when they first started the queuing system the whole crowd just stormed the entrance and the security guards could do nothing.

Was that 2009? Must have been 2010 or 11? 2009 was my first year and I definitely attended at least one festival when there was no queueing system. I remember the old incredibly rammed railway line walk down that way.

2009 was mental for traffic. Took us 16 hours to drive down from Yorkshire.

I've only been in 2009 and 2010 so it was one of them.

I was there in 2010 and 2011 and as far as I was aware the queuing system as it is now was introduced in 2011, in 2010 you basically just piled in down the old railway track and had to enter the whole thing via the left hand side and then had to go through Arcadia to get to Shangri-La - was an absolute nightmare at times in 2010 though.

I worked Shangri La in 2010 it was a nightmare. More or less a one in, one out down the railway track. Quickly swapped to the day shift

The system as it works today was introduced in 2011 - http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/late-night-at-glastonbury-and-the-new-south-east-corner-system/

I remember in 2010 it was a nightmare, although bizarrely I managed to swan into the late night areas with ease every night, we watched the headline acts and even messed about on the way there and don't recall having to wait longer than 10 minutes to get in - that being said it was rammed inside the areas and was dangerously overcrowded on the railway from about midnight until 3am.

    • I found the vibe a little different to recent editions.. definitely an older crowd, less queer, less Spanish.. certainly has something to do with the lack of Glastonbury this year. And I felt Saturday was a little overcrowded. I‘ve never seen Mordor as full as last night for the xx and Gorillaz. Did not enjoy that too much.
    • Not my favourite year either, despite liking the lineup more than previous years. Not sure what it was, I guess Thursday really put the brakes on things. But yeah I'll be back next year hopefully. And maybe Massive Attack will return...
    • E-mail summarizing Saturday - Primavera Sound 2026 Journal Day 3. As in previous days, it's going to be on the website soon, I think.
    • I was surprised as well. I met more than 20 different people on both Friday and Saturday that had come in reusing QR codes.
