Er, I wasn't disagreeing, just confirming and elaborating.

Yep. No tone meant in my post. As I said, cheers for making it clear what exactly it was

So wheres "family camping" then?

No idea. I assume they will simply designate 20,21 or 23. I love they way they simply remove 22 and dont bother renumbering!

I hate when this sort of change happens and E22 is the field we have been using the past few years but the reality is it will not affect us this year, as we will be leaving the sprogs at home, and roughing it up inside the fence with the great unwashed. The Mrs has been sober at Glastonbury since 2011. Its time to change that for her.

Just looked up that festibell business, 2350 for a proper bed and sofa for less than a week... Some people really need their heads checked

It simply highlights the wealth gap that exists in society in that someone can have such wealth accumulated and that they can think such a spend is OK or even most likely nothing to them............

When you see those prices it really does illustrate how unrepresentative of the general population Glastonbury attendees must be. I'm an above average earner with a family but even Worthy View would blow too much of my budget, not that I'd ever consider it anyway, basically a tented version of Milton Keynes.

It's gone to Festibell:

£1200 for a two man tent, door mat, torch and inflatable mattress included but bring your own bedding !!!??!?!?!

.... having said that "breakfast" is included, I say breakfast, bacon, sausage or mushroom bap, woop di arsing do.

........... pure mentalist nonsense.

its a shame that pure capitalism is on the very boundaries of the festival but when landowners can either rent to the eavii or do their own thing to try and get more money, what are they going to do?

most of their immediate neighbours probably hate the festival and everything to do with it and probably want to fleece its punters for the most possible.

How unrepresentative SOME Glastonbury attendees must be of the general population I think you mean.

Actually that I can get. Most of the glamping is a rip off, but I doubt there's a person here who, if they get older, thier body can't cope with sleeping on the floor for five nights, and they have the income they could afford this, wouldn't do it.

Yes, a lot of people take this option to avoid 'roughing it' but some people just don't have the physical capability to do it. Of course, like all young people, the young uns on here think they are immortal.

You could rent a 6-8 berth Camper for less than half that price and that comes with its own crapper, shower, cooker, fridge etc etc..............

Dont want to sleep in a tent inside the fence? Want a bed in your old age? You dont have to fork out thousands for the privilege

It's more symbiotic than it might appear.

The farms on the festival boundary down there, doing luxury camping, do it with the blessing of festival (the giveaway there is that they have access to hospitality tickets.)

In return, those residences agree not to file any noise complaints during the festival. A written agreement in the license, the last time I looked at it.

That appears to have been a key part of getting the SE corner licensed for music far later than would probably be the case.

And their super-rich guests can hardly complain about noise to those hosts either - they've come specifically to go this festival.

It's not the way I'd like to do the festival, even if I had the cash, but in an odd way there's a benefit to all of us. The super-rich off-site campers are the "sound complaint buffer" down in that corner of the site. North to Pilton, with the moderately well-off, is a different case entirely :-/

The main think that puts me off these 3rd party camping places is the very fact they are "off-site". I kinda like getting in, getting my wristband and never worrying about going through a security gate again. I think it'd feel like you weren't really part of the festival.

Oh and the stupid prices of course.

it's in the top left of the SH field now.

might be where Fatboy Slim's thing is being held...

Nope that's the Blues and Pussy Parlure, then there's Wow and Silver Hayes stage itself and the Gully then................

All out of blue dots.

Certain of my relatives fall into this category - I cringe seeing their amazing rustic holiday retreats which usually comprise a run down outbuilding with a relatively modern kitchen and the owners spare patio furniture. The owners are no doubt pissing themselves at the stupid rich englishes in the old pigsty drinking it up down the local Edited by frostypaw

Let's hope they've put a decent amount of toilets at the back of other stage this year (in previous years of the portaloos there was tons)

Last year was a shambles - sad to admit that I frequently pissed in the hedgerow, along with my kids....

Got caught in crowd surges at the railway track junction a couple of times then gave up and resorted to the hedges...

Appears to be a big oversight by the organisers, particularly since the other stage draws a young thirsty crowd !

I thought there was generally less loos around the site than before. I know they have added a few compost ones but seem to have replaced portaloos with long drops and not as many locations. Means in tent facilities ( Travel Johns) become more essential!!!

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
