I accidently got the insurance in the resale last April in the excitement of getting a ticket but I would never do it out of choice.

i don't see the point, surely if the ticket doesn't arrive you can get in contact with the ticket office and arrange for the original to be cancelled and pick up a re-issued one on-site? that's how it works for other gigs/festivals...

I've heard this is near impossible - once sent, See are incredibly reluctant to replace or re-issue. You have to prove it wasn't delivered and go around the houses getting them to acknowledge it.

That said, I don't see how insurance would help.

I was alluding to (unsuccessfully obviously) insurance for medical reasons rather than for non delivery, dog ate it type scenarios

Long story short: I was hospitalised very close to the festival in '09. Only a last minute "OK" from my GP (and I mean the Monday before the Wednesday) enabled me to go. Everybody else was against the idea (apart from a lot of support on here (my first post)). Pretty sure the idea of going kind of spurred my recovery.

Anyway, it was go or lose two hundred odd quid.

I'm pretty sure I would have had all of the paperwork and proof needed to make a claim under the T&Cs had I been insured.

Whether See would have acted arsey about it is a valid point.

It looks like I'm the only one anyway :sarcastic:

Its my first Glastonbury so I cant comment specifically but if you're getting it to cover you for delivery then don't bother, your bank will be able to retrieve the value of the purchase for goods not delivered ( I work in fraud and see this every day)

Its then down to them to prove they got the tickets to you, which they wont be able to do.

I understand of course that this doesn't help you getting into the festival.

Never done it in the past knowingly but have numerous times by accident!

They had to change the law last year to stop companies from auto-checking the insurance box. They basically made thousands out of people rushing to buy tickets for big events and buying without realising.

I voted no and have never bought it. I then went on to pay my balance and bought it, go figure.

Thing is I am driving and taking my wife and youngest son (17). I am pretty sure if I fell ill and could not go then my wife would not go and thus my son. So I would lose £750ish for the sake of saving £15.

Thanks for posting this thread as it actually got me thinking about it. Fingers crossed it's wasted money though.

would you be able to reclaim if that was the case?

and would the other 2 tickets be refunded? i'd have my doubts...

Yes it's in the T&C's

What we will refund?

We will refund the cost of your booking if you are unable to attend the booked event due to:

  • unexpected disruption of the public transport network you could not have reasonably known about before the date or time of the booked event;
  • the death, accident, or illness happening to you, a member of your immediate family or any person(s) in the group due to attend the booked event with you;
  • the mechanical breakdown, accident, fire or theft en route of a private vehicle taking you to the booked event;
  • jury service which you were unaware of at the time of the booking;
  • burglary or fire at your residence in the 48 hours immediately before the booked event requiring attendance of the emergency services;
  • you being summoned to appear at court proceedings as a witness which you were unaware of at the time of booking;
  • you being a member of the armed forces and being posted overseas unexpectedly;
  • adverse weather including snow, frost, fog or storm where the Police service or other Government agency have issued warnings not to travel.

The second paragraph - Death, accident, illness to you, immediate family or group.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
