  1. 1. Yes or No?

But it would only cover the one ticket, not all three. Only one person is ill. This is how they work.

Yes (Edit - I mean No), as it says above. Covers all members of the group (who have ticket insurance) should any member of the group fall ill etc. We are covered anyways as we fall in the immediate family part too.

Yes it's in the T&C's

The second paragraph - Death, accident, illness to you, immediate family or group.

This is bullshit though and I'll explain why..

I had insurance on my ticket last year as my dad was battling cancer and I knew there was a chance I wouldn't be going to the festival. Around 3 weeks before the fest his health began to detirierate so I spoke to seetickets to sort out a refund on my ticket.

I was told categorically that they would only refund my ticket in the case of my father passing away before the festival, even with doctors notes provided.

Found it shocking then and it still angers me now.

6 quid to get a couple of hundred quid back in one of those rare circumstances?

If something like that happened *and* I couldn't get to Glastonbury I think there would be more on my mind than getting a ticket refund.

Even if I was about to die Id still make it to Glastonbury! id rather die in such a sacred place!!!

Well said but totally untrue.
If you get proper flu you will not go, you will not leave your bed or even have any idea that Glastonbury is actually happening.
If you get a bad break the day before the festival you will be in hospital as an in patient and will not go.
If you ...
You would go if you just had a nasty rash or such.
I could list 99 reasons but an itch aint 1.

It's iffy but I think it's the second part of the T&Cs:

We will not provide a refund where:

  • an illness or the death of you, a member of your group or a member of your immediate family is caused by surgery, a change of treatment or medication for a pre-existing medical condition;

It is, unfortunately, there to cover people facing unforseen issues. As a general rule, if you're looking at it thinking "I should get this, because there's a decent chance I won't be able to go this year" then you won't be covered.

That is, and I'm sorry, a pre-existing condition.

I bought it - though I did feel like a bit of a mug and definitely questioned whether it was worth it. Overall though, it's just a fiver and if I do end up needing to use it (for one of the 3 and a half things that seem to be covered!) I'm sure I'll be very relieved.

I'd be much more interested in cover that provided counselling in the event of having to miss a Glastonbury though!

If you have annual travel insurance then you should be covered to a certain extent.

I actually work in travel insurance claims and excursions and tickets are a general exclusion so its not covered.

Nor are pre-existing conditions. Insurance always works on the principle of unforeseen circumstances or conditions otherwise people would purchase insurance once they knew they couldnt travel and not before for the just in case.
