I don't know if I'd say Maddonna is. It's been what, 10 years, since she's put out a single that 50% of attendees might know

That's true, but in terms of her status in the industry, there are only a few acts suited to Sunday nights that get much bigger.

Let's hope the Eavii were a little more accommodating than Junior Vasquez.

Her "hits" are in the main really crap. Bubblegum pop.

Unbelievable revisionism about madonna here.

Says a lot about the current state of headline-sized bands when acts like madonna are greeted with enthusiasm. Says a lot about the current glastonbury crowd too...

Someone the other day said her set would rank alongside the best ever glastonbury sets. Good grief.

Does she ever sing her big hits from the 80's at her gigs now

A few tracks like Like A Prayer aside, her last tour setlist was mostly new material and got a pretty poor reception.

Difficult to know whether she'd change it up this time around. She'll either have learned the error of her ways...or not.

If she does play...and I'm not arsed, tbh...you'd hope she's enough of an anglophile to grasp what's required of a Pyramid Headline slot.

The fact that shes DOES have a new album out makes her less likely to play in my mind.

If she plays, the fawning over her will be unbearable, but it'll go down a storm with the modern Glasto crowd unfortunately.

Cone bras everywhere on the Sunday.

Assuming she headlines, this year's trio will be unquestionable proof that popularity is no reflection of quality.

Yep. And the sad thing is people are lapping it up. Mainstream popularity now trumps everything.

stick to the Ray of Light, Music, & Confessions/Dance Floor material (her good stuff), and throw in a Springsteen cover 3 songs in (say, 'Outlaw Pete', 3 songs in) and she'll do fine with the local sunday daytrippers.

she was one of the fancied '4th headliners'/pre-springsteen thrown around on here back in 2009...

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
