Am I the only person who finds the Goan fish curry distinctly average?

It really wasn't worth the bother my (Goan descent) boyfriend gave the staff by asking for sorpotel (pork offal curry) and then asking why all white people think that all that Goans eat is fish curry.

And I like Heinz beans.

Mushy peas are rank. Gotta have some curry sauce on those chips

Nah, it's all about chippy gravy. As a Northerner who has emigrated to London it's one of the few things I miss about the North. That and reasonable rents.

However, chips, fried rice and Chinese curry sauce...

I don't want to start any bean controversy but...

I'd actually choose Branston beans over Heinz

Wow this thread is getting as ludicrous as the headliner thread! Branston over Heinz! Outrageous. Branston just need to stick to pickle..

I'm with tommyds on this one - I'm a Branston convert. There, I've said it. I'm not ashamed...

I have wandered past the "chill and charge" tent, and I think the same thing every time

WHY ? in the name of all that is Holy, WHY waste you valuble time in there ??

Indeed. For the sake of £20 you can get an Anker off Amazon that will fully charge your phone 4 times, more than enough for the festival

***Neil alert. neil alert!!!***

Apparently the stall next door is much better.

The kedgeree was definitely average. I never risk curry at festival so dunno about them.

I've never had an issue with curry from here, but never had the kedgeree. I really enjoy it, but it's the not the "best curry ever", just a firm favourite for the festival. The kebab stall down at the bottom right of the field is really good too. Stall next door is mezze isn't it? Looked good, but I didn't try it.

Excuse me, but us northerners do have some taste you know - Heinz all the way.

And it's mushy peas, dammit!

Yeh that's what you call em to make em sound like something tasty. They're mushed & an odd green colour only seen ooop north.

Four of us heading over from Derry......... first time at Glasto, lucky enough to get tickets this time round, flying into bristol & staying there to Thursday morning then coaching it to festival. Were staying in Worthy View apparently...me mate booked it.......i just went with it...anyway on the subject of queues again...what sort of queues can we expect for worthy view & also from worthy view to the site.

And on the bean debate...i'd go for long spaghetti from the heinz tin!! Dont like beans!

Cheers!

Nah, never touch them. Get yourself some curry sauce instead, never get that colour out of the dishcloth ever again! Chips and gravy though? Class. No sight of eels either. I'll load up the fryer in the campervan and sort you out for 'one of each' with curry sauce, then? Finbarr in there somewhere...

If youre in at Gate C - down and across the circus field/ cross Bella's/ cross the caberet field and turn right into West Holts - its pretty much the first proper food stall you hit on yr left. Its therefore become the totem for the start of Glastonbury for us. I'll be back there Wednesday afternoon.

Theres better curry on site - but not by much

These are directions to the Goan stall? Sorry, I wasn't clear, I know where it is, and visit 3-4 times (stats skewed by going twice in 1 day), but I'm now intrigued where your other curry suggestions are onsite? I made the comment about 'not the best curry ever', just in reply to someone who wondered what all the fuss was about, but I do rate the fish curry. Best curry ever was in India, whilst watching my Glastonbury buddy dance on a platform with some folk dancers.
