BBC weekly update has just gone live. Fairly negative but very generic with no reference to the South West whatsoever

Monday 22 June—Sunday 28 June Cool nights and warm days

It will be cool start to the working week. Southern England will see outbreaks of rain clear south through the day. Eastern Scotland will see showery rain move south into northern England and eastern England but it will be a drier end to the day. The rest of the UK will see a dry day with sunny spells. A cool night will follow across the UK with clear skies and light winds, leading to a few patches of fog forming.

A dry and settled theme is expected through Tuesday and warm by day but by Wednesday low cloud and patchy rain will spread into Northern Ireland and Scotland, the rain clearing by the early hours of Thursday morning. We can trace this area of rain back to the USA which was at some point tropical storm Bill, but by the time it reaches our shores, it arrives as nothing more that a standard summer low pressure system. The rest of UK will remain dry and settled through Thursday.

From Friday through to the weekend, another spells of rain looks likely to spread across the UK leading to quite a mixed weather pattern with day on day variations but most places of the UK will see some rain.

To summarise the week, temperatures will be close to normal or perhaps a little below average. Rainfall amounts are expected to be above average in the south of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and sunshine will be close to or a little below average for the time of year here too. Elsewhere, conditions are expected to be about average.

Not too bad. Just confirms what we already knew. Mild, overcast, not very summer-y. As for them not mentioning the SW: no news is good news I guess.

Bad weather normally means you can't see the Tor. On the Webcam it's difficult to see the park right now!

But don't worry it will be better later.

I'm not so bothered this year as I'm only there on locals Sunday Ticket, Daughter and friends doing 5 days, hoping its not going to be another wash out for them, not looking brilliant forecast though.. For me Glastonbury mud baths are something that completely spoiled the festivals i went to, no matter who was playing, usually had more than enough by Sunday, left a few tents etc behind, ok maybe  not the right thing to do , but totally wet muddy tents etc are of no use at all. fingers crossed weather forecasts are wrong

So I've been quietly reading this thread for days and days now, content in my private excitement. However, I feel it is time to come forth and share how stupidly obsessed I've become with the weather forecasting... I partly can't wait for it to all begin so I can stop thinking about the weather and just get on with having a cracking time, whatever the weather!

For what it's worth, here in Bath the heavy rain has just stopped and glimmers of blue sky and sun are appearing...

I'd be more worried if it wasn't raining. The same forecasts that are predicting a largely dry festival also predicted rain today, and I want them to be right.

Not sure where to start with this..

Surely the tent being of use to you is utterly irrelevant, the point is not leaving your shit in someone else's field for someone else to tidy up and dispose of it.

And the forecast is looking fine thanks.

The weather forecasts predict good weather my friend. So keep those fingers crossed it stays as it is!

Such is the enthusiasm I've had for following this thread, and the shared obsession with the weather. by all your wonderful posters.

And also all the things i have learned from our resident wannabe (or actual-be) meteorologists, I have penned this song to the tune of Let it Snow.

Oh the outlook looked slightly frightful

But now it’s f*cking delightful

This weather-thread is so much fun

Let it Sun! Let it Sun! Let it Sun!

It shows no signs of stopping

This graph-porn has got me rocking

The Norwegian’s were right all along

Let it Sun! Let it Sun! Let it Sun!

When we finally sleep at night

How I’ll hate waking up to a storm

But if these charts are telling it right

The whole weekend will be warm!

The low pressure is slowly dying

Therefore my crack will be perspiring

The long wait is nearly done

Let it Sun! Let it Sun! Let it Sun!

My amalgamation and not-at-all Scientific of (now 10!) weather forecasting sites has a 42% chance of sunshine and 31% of cloud, making it 73% a dry festival with just 27% of the days having the potential of rain. All of which falls on Friday and Sunday.

May go to your garden and leave a tent up and walk away. See how you feel about.

The Nal's been awfully quiet recently.

Phew, we got there in the end, well done everyone!!

After stepping away for a few days to let the weather do its thing I'm happy to be back and fucking loving these forecasts.

By the looks of it, the only thing thats fucked this year is our livers.
