Weather thread 2015

I do think it's hilarious that science can accurately predict the timing of a high tide or a lunar eclipse in four centuries' time, yet it can't reliably tell me whether or not it's going to rain next Wednesday.

It's because of butterflies. If you killed all the butterflies, the weather would be like clockwork

In the cycle of good-shite-good-shite weather predictions, thankfully tomorrow will be shite day,so on Sunday when it is the oracle of the One Show prediction it will be a good one and which means we will have stable weather for the festival.

when i was little, i always thought it was funny a country called greenland was covered in snow...i once laughed about it for 3 hours straight

the irony i once mused, as i grabbed another rusk...

I actually know Who and why... If you want to know.

Did that storm not start til after midnight then? That counted as still Thursday for me and it definitely was.... RAIN.

Yeah 3am ish I think. Was up in the Stone Circle for the first flash of lightning - big defiant cheer. 2nd (closer) crack a minute later and people scarpered.

We were fucked.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
