Speaking of cloud seeding / altering weather. My sister was involved in the organisation of the Olympic opening ceremony and although it was slightly above her pay grade, she is fairly confident that plans were in place if needed to ensure there was no rain.

She doesn't know however whether the good weather we had during the Olympics (fairly sure there was only 1 maybe 2 days of rain) was a result of alterations or just good luck.

Oh lord let's not go down this road. I've seen some far out conspiracy theories about this!

On a lighter note it looks like Download/IOW are going to get a bit damp - while bad for them this gives me much optimism. Sun drenched Downloads seem to accompany wet Glastonburys in my memory

2013, both festivals it only rained once at both, both times pre festival start too.

Mind you it didn't half piss it down at Download, thunder n lightning and torrential rain - the ground never managed to fully recover completely from it.

I love this thread. I come in and look at all the charts, nod to myself, say "yes this is a chart" and then go back to waiting for the next one. Thanks to all who know more about what they're talking about!

Hahahahahaha, me too wetflame!

It's only accuweather (which doesn't update every day) which is looking bad today:

Nice chart. What am I going to do for the rest of the day now?

This does look much better than yesterday though!

Gavs weather vids starting full Glasto predictions from Saturday onwards....

When we begin the regular update's for Glastonbury it will be very interesting to see whether the model is still attempting to bring us an extended spell of dry and warm weather for the Pre-Glasto period as well as the event itself.

Glastonbury update's will start on GWV events page on Saturday evening around 7pm.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
