Weather thread 2015

my friend works for the met office and gets internal weather reports from them. he has started forwarding them onto us in anticipation for glastonbury. anyway, the one he has sent today says "there is growing research that a -ve SSTs anomaly in the North Atlantic leads to drier than average conditions across the UK."

i think that basically means we're not gonna have any rain

Even if it does rain (NFRNFC) then the drainage systems are so much better now aren't they? So it shouldn't be too bad?

they have some of those super soaker things they use in the cricket now as well

they go round the whole site every morning, amazing really

But I'm really not looking for a repeat of last year.

Yeah I can't agree with those who say that last year was just fine - storms that bring the whole event to a standstill and throw the schedule out of whack are not to be encouraged, and the level of mud made getting around the site pretty challenging.

"and the first half of June will bring some early summer-like conditions for many."

"However he warned the extreme heat will trigger a spate of thunderstorms with sudden and heavy showers a risk in parts.

"These could bring the risk of some localised flooding due to torrential downpours in places, in particular, in some parts to the south of the country"

:O

I don't think it's fair to call bringing negative vibes to the weather thread 'trolling'. This isn't NFC NFR over here.

It's a reality that rain and storms have a good chance of attending the festival with us. I, for one, am expecting them.

    • I think it happened a week ago. Btw, Ela Minus looks like a great addition for the opening free day now. Anyone been to this venue? Is there like a closed place or they just put an open air stage somewhere in the park?
    • I see the weekend tickets have sold out. When did that happen? I recall seeing that Friday day tickets had all gone but was surprised to see today that weekend ones had too.
    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
