I heard people talking about how it was DEFINITELY Muse until House Of Pain were announced about an hour before their set. Think I broke one guys heart when I told him it wasn't gonna be Muse - I think he was more stoked to see them than anybody else

I did not go and watch House Of Pain cause I thought it'd be a bit shit, and was also having a very lazy morning

I wonder what happened to the budget they presumably had to spend on Muse? I'm not a fan, but it's hard not to feel a little cheated after all the hype if the replacement is House of Pain.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/34240697/missy-elliott-turned-down-bestival-twice

"Missy doesn't like playing live particularly, she doesn't need to, she just doesn't want to that much and she doesn't like travelling."

But Rob Da Bank was persistent, willing to pay her more and that paid off for him.

"It was just a case of keep on whacking up the money, keep phoning the agent and pray for good news.

"I got turned down twice and then I was like 'I am going to give it one last go', luckily something clicked and the cheque was large enough, speaking frankly.

Had a feeling that she would've cost a lot. Not worth it - caught the end of her set after Todd terje and she didn't seem to do much rapping/singing, or even songs - just talking and dancing about. You could tell she hadn't done this properly for a while

I loved the Jacksons though - they were a lot more spritely than I expected, and of course had a load of bangers to go with it. Particularly liked the never ending version of Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground). But Jermains mic needed to be turned way up

Well I wouldn't believe there ever was much of a 'Muse budget' as their presence will have come about from offering to play for less than their usual price. If they did get their normal fee then that would've gone some way to explaining why the line up was relatively weak this year, but perhaps that thing about Missy's booking does that too.

So much fun. Despite a much weaker line up than previous years, possibly had the best festival fun I've ever had. So so good

Do you think that might be connected though? Like they got people in with the big lineups at the start of the decade but kept people in with how much 'fun' the event is - or increased the 'fun'? Not that it's a bad thing - quite admirable actually as long as they maintain the sales.

I literally cannot for the life of me process this information

Had an amazing time yet again. Even though my tent in black camp had been ransacked on two separate occasions. There was nothing worth taking luckily but that's not the point.

Was also surprised by the no bag checks at the arena entrance this year. Do we reckon they're trialling the allowance of alcohol in the arena?

They rarely check bags anyway there, but on the last day I heard them saying that it was only cans and glass they were looking for. Even specifically saying alcohol in plastic bottles is fine

I thought Duran Duran absolutely nailed it

Duran Duran was probably my set of the weekend - didn't realise how many of their songs I knew. Ordinary World especially had me and my friends all hugging whilst belting out the words. Loved it

Todd Terje was, yet again, another highlight. That whole tent looked so happy

I had a brilliant time yet again. The line up was a tad weak but the site just gets better & better every year.

I thought Duran Duran absolutely nailed it. Missy was better than I expected, but she cut her set short & it seemed to cause a few issues with the fireworks?

I wonder what had happened to the fireworks. I thought the rain may have had something to do with it. I'm more than sure they hadn't planned them like that.

I enjoyed it but not as much as last year. People didn't seem to be that into the fancy dress on Saturday.

Highlights for me were Duran Duran, Level 42, Jungle, Jacksons and Todd Terje.

Low points: The rain Sunday night. Didn't enjoy The Chems that much either but I had seem them at Glasto so was never going to live up to that set.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
