Only set they had last year was 4am on the Truth stage Monday morning, I saw them on Saturday and they were so hyped about it! Nice to see how much it means to those just trying to breakthrough, in Bristol and the underground scene they’re very well respected and loved 🥰

That venue has a section that you can’t see there too, so they have chosen to be up in that part, I don’t get it either 🤣 but the sets there are always filmed so I guess it’s on the individual on whether they get in front of the camera or not, definitely not a good idea imo

Definitely a trend that seems to be aligned to the younger crowd at events these days.

 

Started by Boiler Room really but particularly in DnB now there are more and more '360' events with part of the crowd behind the decks, and I guess with everything so online now it's more about being seen there than the actual experience.

 

A perfect example being the kid from the Chase & Status Boiler Room who went viral and has been all over their social media, on stage with them at the Brits etc etc.

They played in 2022 and 2023. Didn't catch them last year but I caught the first half of their set in the Gas Tower in 2022. Yes, they were definitely added to the E&D spreadsheet. Speaking of which, as soon as we get a few more names, we'll resurrect it once more.

don't think that many people want to be filmed particularly - its more about being close to the artist, which seems to be popular now

 

goes hand in hand with the general shift towards people facing the dj

 

I suppose its a good spot to stand too, your in the crowd but have a good amount of space. if one of my mates wanted to go there i'd probably follow to be with them vs on my own too i suppose

Completely different world, these days, isn't it. Weirdly, I was down a YouTube rabbit hole last week, watching old uploaded VHS from early 90s events and I caught a glimpse of me trudging down the stairs and out of the door at the old Plymouth Warehouse in 1994. I'm glad it was a glimpse and no other footage of that time is available...well, none that I know of

I like the intimacy of it, but no necessarily the filming. I'd be too self-conscious. It's a cool modern phenomenon that takes the culture into a different direction. There's not many better setups than the Concourse at WHP and Boiler Room events are great fun, too. Thankfully, most people behave themselves when the camera's are rolling. Of course, there's always the odd nightmare, but that's the risk

Effy was absolutely quality in The Temple last year. Best DJ set of the weekend for me. Glad to see her return again this year (glade dome this time)

Glade lineup got a lot more names that I'd see compared to usual. 

 

A Mall Grab or Chaos in The CBD at 2am could do wonders for crowding I reckon.

 

Might even make for a good night where I cba to venture to SEC for a night & have a much shorter walk back.
