Ben Sims is a flippin' genius. Absolute legend of the British techno scene.

Yeah, Kinetic looks a lot of fun - I do fancy the Altern8 Rave Classics set! On that score, as mentioned, Denham Audio could throw in some lovely breaky stuff paired with Rebekah's pounding techno.

really hope they give Ben Sims 2 hours. Anything less than that just doesn't do justice to his set building. If we get Sims and KI/KI as successive sets, we're in for a treat. That's main stages headliner sack-off material, to make sure you're not queuing when the first of them comes on!

Ben

Not yet made it to a Temple set, mainly as I hate the idea of queuing for stuff at Glasto, but Altern8 and Wilkinson have the potential to pull me away from Silver Hayes - how long is the queue normally, how long before a set would you need to get there to avoid a queue?

also just gave KiKi a spin and they sound decent!

If you're willing to sacrifice a headliner, you shouldn't have any problem getting in. I find the crowd in the Temple to be quite transient, there's a lot of people who poke their head in, hang around for a bit, then move on, so the queue can move reasonably quickly (subject to whoever's on, of course). Like you, I'm not necessarily one for queuing at Glastonbury, but I've never waited for more than 10 minutes to get in, when I've made the effort. And boy, is it worth the effort! Best venue at the festival at any time of day or night. My advice is, decide who you definitely want to see and get to the Common in plenty of time, observe the length of the queue and jump in as soon as possible. You won't regret it.

Everyone should see the sunrise at the Temple. Unparalleled vibes.

I’ve never had a massive issue but maybe I’ve just been lucky.

Agreed definitely worth the effort and the queue moves quickly (depending on who is playing)

I was in 5-10mins last time

Sunday. One of my best ever night on the Farm.

Ben

Techno Sunday in the Temple confirmed by Mr Sims on the old Instachats....

Also, (now I’m allowed to announce it), at the end of June i’ll be returning to @glastofest for the first time in about 15 years and playing a set at The Temple, excited for that one! Have a good weekend, Sims x

Oh FFS why Sunday 🤬 have to drive home early the next day so go to bed after Headliner.

I'm probably in a similar boat.

Designated driver on Monday and we usually try and leave earlyish to avoid the queues.

May have to switch plans so I can see Ki/Ki though.

It’s always pretty easy to get in later on though.

Think we went in about 8pm on Thursday last year and only queued 5-10 mins.

There was a decent amount of space in there too.

We went in about 11 last year on the Thursday. Steward said it would be an hour and it was max 10 mins so no idea what she was on about. Didn’t plan to but we were then there until it finished at 3, it’s the best place to dance at Tre festival imop

I’ve never seen Sims before, but if it’s anything like this…..

Truly, he one of the *greats* of British techno, arguably all techno. He's hugely regarded in the industry as someone true to the scene and community. Let's wait for the set times, and hopefully you designated drivers can bask in the glory of the Temple before scooting off for pre-home time Zzzzs. I'd LOVE to share that dancefloor with the thread faithful ❤️

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
