Arranging the meetup is the easy part.

When its 2am and your trying to find it, thats where we usually run into difficulties!!

I was at Overmono, but phone was dead so ended up in a completely different part of the crowd 🥲

I'll be almost completely solo this year. Been about 40% solo last two years, mixed response. 2022 I met two strangers at Four Tet and we went on a all night side quest showing a first timer the whole site, finishing off dancing at Iicon til sunrise. Magical.

Last year didn't have such luck and overheard one group I got chatting to in Shangri-La say to one another "we don't wanna be looking after her all night" so quickly excused myself and kept myself to myself after that.

Hoping for more of the former this year as, other than my worker friends, I don't have any other good mates there this year for the first time ever.

You’re always welcome to tag along with me, as long as you want to be at the stuff I’m at of course!  And this year, you might catch me when I’m not on my tod too!

If anyone wants stupidly cheap last minute tickets for Air this evening at the Royal Albert hall then have a look on a certain ticket resale site that starts with the letter V. There's a pair currently going for £21 (that's for both tickets including fees) in section R in the circle.

Little tip: go to the .com version of the site and not .co.uk as they're always cheaper.

I wouldn't normally entertain using them at all but in the last few weeks I've managed to get well below face value tickets for Tenacious D, Olivia Rodrigo and now Air.

A question for you E&D ers - how much of your dancing time (if any) do you spend solo?

For live acts, I'm always very happy to go off and do my own thing for a bit, but late night tends to be together. There's only two of us this year so I may be left to my own devices after they retire for the evening, but still want to catch some of the late night offering. My current strategy is just to get down the front where all the energy is and away from the big groups falling around the place on the edges. But any tips appreciated.

I quite like spending my dancing time alone if i'm honest. I get to go and see what a want, don't have to talk to anyone and can just concentrate on the music and get into the zone. I inevitably do get talking to people though, as you do.

This year a mate into E&D is coming but he doesn't always want to do what I want, he can generally be persuaded though - although I didn't manage to persuade him to come to HAAI's set on Genosys a few years ago and year later he's singing her praises! He does tend to talk a lot when i'm trying to dance and has a tendency to want to see FBS which i'm not into.

Hello fellow Enthusiasts! Haven't been on here for a couple of years, obviously the first port of call when I logged back in!

Really looking forward to some Paranoid London, Ivan Smagghe b2b Manfredas and a couple of sets from The Orb this outing.

No Helena this year (so far) is a bit of a downer.

Same here, not posted since last year ... It's great to be back!  Excitement is building!

Looking forward to Dresden as well , seen them twice last year at Love International and The Golden Lion , along with Sean Johnston they are carrying the mantle of the late , great Lord Sabre with quality chug and acid sounds -  Amazing DJs.  I see there's quite a few others from the Spun Out stable on too , Chez de Milo, Felix Dickinson, Dave Harvey. All well worth catching.

This thread already delivering - cheers mate! Felix Dickinson also playing a festival in Ireland I'm going to later in the summer. Recognise Chez de Milo from a few ALFOS EBS tracklists, that's an immediate addition to the list.

Just listened to this set again.

They're playing the Assembly on Thursday night.

It's a great set - takes its time to reach full gas, which I imagine they'd foreshorten for a proper dance set, but if they play anything like this little beauty, I'll be there with bells on.

Sugar Free & Fonte

Hi All,

Long time lurker in this thread so thought I’d get involved. Few questions if I may. Where is the best place to find mixes. I have SoundCloud and Mixcloud but sometimes find it tricky navigating around those platforms.

Secondly; I’ve seen Luke Una getting a fair bit of airtime recently and see he’s due on the Farm next month. Wondered what genre he would be classified as, what to expect, and where to find him.

Thanks 🙂

Quite a specific request but would anyone be able to recommend some DJs who are likely to play some Italo Disco in their sets? Palms Trax being one for example. Don't care if it's a big name or DJ playing in some smaller tent. Few of our crew going would lap that stuff up.

Yep. Check out Demi Riquísimo. He's playing a few times, if I recall correctly. He does play other types of house too (I really enjoyed a couple b2b sets with Manami last year), but I reckon he's a good bet to scratch the Italo itch

Depending on what you're into, YouTube is a great source for live sets. Search for Hör Berlin, Boiler Room, Anjunadeep or BOG Bristol for starters. Loads of stuff across all genres amongst that lot on there.

Difficult to pigeon hole, is Luke Una. Disco, Balearic house, techno, samba, soul. His sets often transition through them all, it's probably what he's best known for.

Welcome to the thread of threads.

I think Luke Una is going to play House and Disco most of the time, that would work for his Stonebridge set. But he can play techno or even jungle, so who knows for his other, as yet unplaced, set!

We'll know more on Monday (we'd bloody better!)

    • Having done all three, Porto is lovely, very chilled but nowhere near as exciting as Barcelona (nor as many options). Bilbao BBK has charm but again not a patch on Barcelona really.   ps and the beer was 5.50, not 5, last year 😉
    • Honest question and with the risk of getting slaughtered, do you feel people should stop the chatting on the entire field? When my group is in the front rows we surely keep the talking to a minimum and largely only about how great or bad the artist is. But surely on the main field when you are further back (lets say around the bars (200 meters from the podium) you should be able to have a conversation. If people are still annoyed about that I would recommend them moving up further.
    • I just genuinely think they don't understand technology and its felt like this since the invention of the internet.   Also see say a speech on a Monday saying we want to be a world leader in "this thing" then on a Wednesday another speech saying "this thing" is bad and needs to be banned/regulated out of existance.
    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
