Am an avid Centreforce Radio listener, any info as to any of their DJs playing, or indeed where I may stumble across some Happy/Balearic/89-91 old School Rave tuneage ??

Centerforce is all modern house these days.  Check our eruptionradio.Uk for actual underground sounds

The Gas Tower had a Slipmatt/Altern8 set in 2019 but that was on the Monday at 4am (a definite men from boys separator - no chance I was making that one)! Bez's Acid House/Flying Bus is a surefire bet for tunes from that era. The Spaceport usually throws a couple of names spinning old school, Altern8, Mark XTC, etc. Klaus Blatter (aka Irvine Welsh) loves the acid house, definitely a lot of fun, he played the Spike last time around. You might also find the likes of Mark Archer around the Glade Lounge.

If you love your piano tunes, Davos is always a good time, usually opening the Glade one day. I think he's back again this year.

If you can't find a name you know, your best bet is to take a walk around the south east corner until you hear something that lands. You're bound to stumble across something amazing.

Seeing the glade line up means none of this is happening this year sadly

Hopefully the Unfairground will fill in the gaps. Even if the names aren't playing, absolutely no doubt the genre will be well represented. My suggestion would be to wander around and see what you stumble across, or painstakingly go through all of the acts announced so far and see who plays acid house, old school hardcore, jungle tekno. We'll find some, keep the faith 😊

Pretty housey, more on the commercial side.

I've only ever seen her once live, at Bestival 2010 and it was fun.

Whilst it's not really my preferred style, there's just something about her passion for music which is infectious. She has loads of fun, ergo you do.

Listened to a this during lockdown when I was pining for Glasto......

Annie Mac and Bestival sets were the absolute best combination. AMP in the Big Top...my god I've lost some braincells at those nights. The 2012 lineup was GOAT stuff.

Ok I think this is an appropriate thread for this question - still no David Rodigan on any of these area drops so far (was half expecting maybe Glade) - do we think he is either:

a) Going to be on a main stage (I saw him on the main stage at SGP once and he killed it tbf)

b) Not going to be there at all 😞

c) Going to be on an area not announced yet (although I can't think which that would be)

That glade stage would be almost impossible to close off given the openness and multiple access points

Are we not thinking that the new Glade Stage might be much bigger than that bit in the woods? not that its likely to be huge, I guess there's only so much room between there and the Leftfield. just wondered if it might cut into the crew camping that was behind the spaceport / food stalls previously.

So...are we thinking Block 9 announcement later this week? Anyone got any intel?

Let's hope so. Saw Roi Perez self confirmed for Block 9 yesterday - playing Saturday and then Maceo's sunday.

Anyone been to Maceo's and know what the deal is? Can literally any worker (i.e. food truck, stage, greenpeace etc) get into there or only certain folk?

NYC Downlow do we think?

Well he's listed for AVA Festival in Belfast, any sets I've ever heard from him have been pretty banging techno. Mind you I'm going back a few years here to Shine when it was still in the Mandela Hall (RIP).

Ah of course, didn't even cop that it was under Floorplan.

Aye Floorplan is strictly gospel house, disco house and house in my experience. It’s a great set every time tho.

As Robert Hood he plays techno, with his daughter Lyric as Floorplan, it's much more disco-oriented. Maybe we'll get both versions in two separate areas? Hood on IICON/Genosys, Floorplan on the Downlow

Anyone fancy hazard a guess at when Avalon Emerson might play. Never seen her.

I’ll have a crack at it - Depending on the headliners for whichever night she’s playing, could see her being either one before or one after Job Jobse b2b Palms Trax, so like closing slot or 11.30-1am ?

She's closing Sunday night at San Remo I think, not sure about Silver Hayes and other sets.

I have. I had a T&C crew band last year as I was playing a few sets around the festival over the weekend, including at the Green Room Bar which is the T&C crew bar. Early in the festival I asked in Maceo's if I could get some Block9 wristbands for me and some mates so we could get into Maceo's thoughout the festival. They told me the my T&C wristband would get me in whenever, unless they were busy in there in which case they may only accept people with Block9 wristbands. They gave me a batch of their wristbands anyway. I liked it in there, it was a nice to get into a, slightly, calmer place in the middle of all the chaos of Block9.

no idea at the moment unfortunately - I think that b2b with Palms Trax suits Lonely Hearts (or what i've seen of it anyways) down to a tee , but that could be said for at least 70% of the artists on the bill, i'd love a thursday night to go up against camelphat

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
