I forgot something. I meant to say, as I'm not going next year, missing the meet up is going to hurt. If your a lurker and have never been before then I advise you to go. It's a nice bit of fun on the Wednesday evening. Much better than being anywhere else on site at that time, in my opinion.

It's a choice thing. I need a break from the place and want to do some other festivals instead. I do think Glastonbury is too big for these weary old bones to handle now. Time will tell if I return or not. As I say though, it's going to have the best efests meet up. I can think of no better way than to meet people off here whilst getting inebriated on the Wednesday night. I only managed the meet for the first time this year and didn't quite approach it in the right manner. If there is a next time, I'll hang around for longer.

I'll be popping in again next year, I vaguely remember meeting a few (Neil and others early doors) and buying Siblin a pint but I had hit the gin too early in a post camp completion celebration and then turned up at the meet about 4pm for merriment continuation and hence left too early and collapsed in tent by 10pm.

Next year I will pace myself and eat some food so can meet a few more of you lovely peeps.

Jusy thought i'd chip in.

Not been on here much lately 'cos of real life stuff, but:

I went - earlyish - for the first time this year. And despite being very pissed and pretty shy and nervous, i loved it.

I met DeeBee and her lovely family, Neil, Brave Sir Robin, Good Ol' Gumby and Gnomicide. And Yoghurt who brought me voddy and who couldn't decide what he wanted from the bar so i chose a couple of concoctions for him. Hope he liked 'em. All of whom were great, great friendly, funny people.

I didn't stay too long as my wife was wandering around lost at her first GF.

But in short, if you're shy / nervous - just go for it!

You'll be made to feel very welcome indeed.

Also try the NFR NFC meet.

So as Woffy says don't be shy (which I know can be hard) no one I have met is judgemental of you and everyone just wants the same, which is to have a good time.

So come on in you will not regret it.

Wow, hadn't realised that was your first meet too Yog (you may have told me but I was, of course, somewhat inebriated). Very good to meet you!

And to add to the consensus, no-one should be shy about coming to the meet. We seemed to come in all shapes and sizes (and accents and ages), but everyone was very friendly and in a great mood (it's Glastonbury on the Wednesday night, hard not to be!)

They then sit racking their brains to think of a reason to leave that sounds plausible, 'There's a band playing in the Small World Tent I'm desperate to see, nice meeting you!'
