yeah definitely

is Laura Marling likely, then?

I hate to say this, but I'm highly doubting we haven't already got our 3 park headliners.

And Laura Marling would headline the park, could still be playing other/pyramid though.

Anyway, park headliners:

Ryan Adams

Super Furry Animals

Belle and Sebastian

that's my thinking, so many people on the bill it could be though.

Surely Patti Smith would be above Laura Marling?

Nah I don't think so, although I don't think there's a lot in it.

I can't remember why, but Lawn came up with a reason why Patti Smith is more likely for Sunday than Saturday.

Yeah, she's in Belgium on the Friday but I dunno how much difference that really makes. She could do two days in a row couldn't she?

Think it'd be 3 days in a row, but still, i'd say she's just as likely for either

She's in Belgium on the Thursday and Holland on the Friday I think.

How big is Patti Smith anyway? I've seen people predict her for 3rd down on the Pyramid and stuff but I'd have thought 5th/6th down on there or Park headliner (as many in here think) would be more likely. I know she's a big name but she's not even headlining Field Day so I can't see her getting a particularly high spot.

I like Belle & Sebastian's early stuff but have been not so keen on the later stuff (not bought Girls In Peacetime, but I do like what I hear from individual tracks), never seen them live so would like to. My problem is where this leaves Patti Smith, she is going to be the linchpin of my festival, the main event.

Closing west holts is the dream, can't have her saturday - got plans, can't have her friday - i'm busy. But could probs make it sunday evening after b and s.

Obviously any plans would be discarded to see her but.... I'm still neglecting the whole concept of clashes. So please, patti, please, play sunday West Holts.

Me too, no fucking clashes, no fucking compromise! I'm going to be seeing Patti Smith, Hot Chip, Todd Terje, Kanye West, Sharon Van Etten, Mavis Staples, Charli XCX, FKA twigs, Young Fathers and The Pop Group, none of them will clash. Already had to write off the Mothership Returns.

Yes provably similar to yoko Ono last year

I am genuinely thinking of quitting these boards until the stage splits/times are announced - can't take the speculation any more! So many acts I want to see and pretty much all of them likely to be on West Holts or the Park.

(Won't happen though)

East London, yeah. Normally fine but there's just a higher percentage of types that don't want to be seen having fun, ya know. Fairly friendly crowd for sure, just usually a bit dull. (From my experience of 2011-13)

It's the speculation that makes these boards frustrating/amazing/bizarre. Can't wait for the stage splits though. Then the clashing nightmares start.....

When is there gonna be a stage splits announcement, has there been any info on the headliners thread? (i've kinda avoided it for a couple weeks now i'm trying to revise... you really get sucked into that thread..)

There should be a poster with stage splits early/mid May and the full line up end of May/start of June. Then stage times a short (but agonising) wait after.

Are we confident that we're going to get anything prior to the announcement of the final pyramid headliner and sub? I was starting to think that, as with the Metallica announcement last year, the next large wave of acts would just come along with that. I'd obviously be pleased if this weren't the case, mind. Could do with as much time as possible to check out new acts in advance of the festival.

    • Hot on the heels of outdoor gig number 1, the second arrived quickly! Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Malahide last night (lovely sunny evening for it!). As usual, fantastic gig (ebbed and flowed from tender to feral). Since they aren't touring an album it was very different to the Wild God shows from last year, with a bunch of tracks that hadn't been played in a good while wheeled out. Highlights for me were a blistering rendition of Hiding All Away (that merged into the end of White Elephant) and a touching interpretation of A Rainy Night in Soho to close the set (well after curfew!). @Superscally, still nothing from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (they really must not like that album!)
    • I’m putting the 2026 code and it’s not applying the discount. Does somebody know why?
    • I think I’ve asked this before, but do we know why this is a ‘never happen’ one? I understand with Queen and Duran Duran, but I’ve never seen anything written saying one way or another if they’d do it. Would be an incredible get.
    • Here we goooo!   I never thought I'd say this at Prima Porto, famous for its rainy weather... I wish it'd be a bit colder ;D
    • I saw an interview the other day with Simon and he was asked about Glastonbury legends spot and he did say they consider themselves headliners and also said something like "The legends slot is a kind of headline slot" The actual wording might be slightly different but it gave an indication that maybe?
