did we have this much trouble pinning the Park/stage headliners last year or did we/efests nail them down pretty early? ridiculous amount of acts on the lineup who'd look great atop the Park (or playing the Park in general) which just shows how great of a lineup we have this year

If the Park is finishing early on Sunday, FlyLo won't be there that night. Needs the darkness for his show, I imagine he has it as a contractual thing like The xx do.

I don't see Jon Hopkins headlining it, but I do see him taking the slot Four Tet had last year.

If its the same times as last year it's still possible, though i do think you are right. I'm hoping for the Glade on Saturday night which is also pretty unlikely; reckon it will end up being the JP which is a bit shite.

I think most people were expecting James Blake when he self confirmed but not sure about the others. Metronomy were probably considered an option but I don't remember expecting Mogwai.

There's gonna be some awful clashes, hoping to see a park headliner though, not much would steer me away from hot chip or kanye, but Patti Smith or Spiritualized on the sunday would be perfect.

Kinda gutted Belle and Sebastian aren't headlining though :(

Park wishlist: Tobias Jesso Jr., Bully, Natalie Prass, Earl Sweatshirt, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Alvvays, Waxahatchee, Julia Holter, Nils Frahm, Dean Blunt, Diiv, The Antlers

Also, its not gonna happen anymore but would love sleater-kinney.

Still, I reckon some of those are fairly likely.

Great list, really hoping at least a couple of these end up happening.

I'd sign a petition to get those two!

Can you imagine Nils Frahm on The Park...?

This would also be bloody marvellous!

can you imagine tripping out to J Spaceman and a full choir and strings (I can dream), whilst most of Glastonbury watches the Emperor. Who has no clothes.

PLEASE!

Ben

+1 for all of the above!

Who's this Nils Frahm dude you speak of?

Hmm was planning on seeing The Who but a Spiritualized headline set would probably be enough to draw me away. And said it plenty times but yeah the Antlers would be amazing, would love to see UMO too who will surely show up somewhere

Nice list! Any idea what the latest is with Julia Holter's new album?

    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
