tweed1981
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but if Noel headlined (or performed high up the bill somewhere) would it be just his solo stuff or would it be a heavy mix of Oasis stuff too? kingcrawler
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but if Noel headlined (or performed high up the bill somewhere) would it be just his solo stuff or would it be a heavy mix of Oasis stuff too? He played 6/7 Oasis covers when he subbed V and T and did a few more at his solo gigs so he'd definitely do Oasis songs. Doubt he'll play as many this time round as he'll have 2 solo albums to choose from as well as a few Oasis songs.
olive123
He is a perfect pyramid sub. I can see his ego wanting to headline though, probably suit headlining Other Stage pretty well. Hopefully Mr Weller would be somewhere on site as as well.

I mean since his cocaine days?

Doug85
Noel subbed at T in the Park before the stone roses came on. they are probs one of a few bands he would do it for.
kingcrawler
Given he subbed V, T and IOW on his last album I can't see him turning down sub offers because of his ego.
Scotdy
Hopefully Mr Weller would be somewhere on site as as well. I seen Weller 25+ times but he never seems to work outdoors. That said, if he played, I would be there!!
Gucci Piggy
Reckon he'll sub Fleetwood Mac.

metallimuse
I think this talk of Noel's ego is a bit out of sync. While he does have great banter if you listen to some of his interviews around his subbing festival sets last time round he said he thought it would take longer to reach the level he did with his solo stuff. He only subbed the majority of fests coz it was to the Stone Roses and they requested him. bocumaroy
I quite like some of his Oasis songs (not bothered with the solo stuff), but the hilarious quotes attributed to him are baffling. Unfunny at best, most of them just make him come across as an idiot.
CHRLY
If he does play I think it will be as a sub. Not that I will be there he's as boring as they come Edited October 10, 2014 by CHRLY

CHRLY
Mumford and Sons were very popular in 2013.

CHRLY
Like I said, I think he'll sub. (If he plays at all)
Matt42
I don't quite see where this sudden "he's a headliner" talk has come from. Yes he's big but he's not big enough to pull off a headline slot yet, even with another album he's still "one of the oasis brothers". Maybe if this second album is huge il change my mind. FloorFiller
sub, definitely. much like Jack White couldn't headline whereas White Stripes did. until an artist truly breaks away from their former glories they'll remain a non-headliner, and you can be damn sure Noel's set would be chock full of Oasis songs. why waste a headline set full of Oasis songs on Noel when the actual Oasis will no doubt reform to do it in a few years? Whilst I do completely agree, I think that if the Eavii are strugling for a headliner. He could well be an option.

stopwn1981
But a legend nonetheless. Id take a jake bugg style double set - headline the other and mid afternoon acoustic stent slot!
FuzzyDunlop
Legends slot? That is reserved for Barry Gibb - this forum has spoken!
