I love George Michael and he is fantastic live. I've never seen Glasto as his kind of thing though. Would they do the legends slot?

I could see that being one big drunken sing along with no one taking it seriously.

Although the only time I've paid attention to George Michael is when I watch videos from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert (my parents were there so I've seen it enough times on video). He really impressed me, just not enough to pay any further attention to him.

Michael by himself is more of a legend than Wham! Since he went solo there's been that time in those bogs with the undercover cop, being busted with crack on the heath and ploughing his Range Rover into Snappy Snaps.

If that doesn't make you a legend, if only for a Sunday afternoon, I don't know what does.

He's sold gazillions of records and plays big places when he tours. I'm not advocating it, far from it, but he's much bigger than, say, Arcade Fire or Kasabian.

I know people like to bring up names that were huge and are still huge to those people but have long since become irrelevant but George Michael or Wham! would be a step too far.
